Hey y'all, All feed backs are welcome.

How bad is it to not have a designator you are applying for present in your interview?

If I was a betting man I would say its not the best thing in the world not having it, especially if you are or have been to a qualifying command.  Although your package should be an assessment of your overall body of work, so as long as you had enough meat and potatoes in there to balance out.

How much weight does it hold to have an appraisal from the Silver Eagle with all 10's and a PRESS 100 NOW?

I would think it depends... I am sure it could not hurt! Was he in your designator? Because if he was that could be huge!

Not to sound to sarcastic, but I doubt anyone on here has sat an LDO board. It's all just a guess. Last year's board may have imidiately selected you, while this year's board doesn't care, or vice versa. Thus is the great Navy selection board mystery.

Very true! I spoke with a CDR that sat on last year's board and he said every board is different on how they select applicants. Different board members look for different things. Only the selection list can tell you if your package was strong enough.

For the sake of conversation:

how similar would the LDO/CWO Board and the CPO Board be?

Are both selection boards on a point system from the precepts. And are designators the voters

I can't remember from last year, but did they do a triad release and then the list like they do for other promotions or was it just the published list? Hubby is always gone when these results come out. I actually really liked having him call me when he made Chief to share the news verses just reading his name on the list, but I wasn't sure if I needed to be on the lookout for the list this time around :)

Also, can anyone say how it affects orders or is it a case by case thing? We're supposed to be moving in April, obviously things are always up in the air, but it would be nice to have some idea if  it's likely to change or not.

Well, this year they have to say yes.  I literally have every bullet in the precept and one of them only 49 others have in the Navy.  I still have those Montecristo #2's from last year Tony.  They have some age on them now and would be perfect to enjoy this year.  Shoot me a message and I'll get one your way.

This is my first time applying and knowing there's only few applicants for 752x I'll have at least 30% chance of getting selected.  Great info...thanks!
