Something I do want to mention. In years past, scuttlebutt was always welcome. Someone would come on, post their rumor and it would either be discussed or laid to rest as untrue. That is how I like this forum to run. Just like you are talking with your shipmates about the latest rumors, it's just discussed. Lately on this forum, when someone brings some scuttlebutt, another member will act like you are not supposed to post scuttlebutt by either putting them down or Pming them or whatever. T

Nah, I got Golden at my first command... did not make me a stellar Sailor just opportunity struck.

I think it does matter. I joined at 29. Made E-6 in 5 and hoping to make CPO in 8 whenever they decide to release these results.

We just had an E6 from our command receive a COM. He put himself in for it as an LPO. It wasn't rejected, so he received it. He received it because of politics. He was always around the triad and dept. Leaders.

Hopefully his write up reflects that, and the board will see through it.  However it's probably unlikely.  Politics is probably one of the reasons I haven't gotten the best of evals.  I don't do the show face stuff.

True!! I have to tell a lot of people no or risk career or prison. This does not make me a popular person. 🧐

I was told results come out next week but some chiefs were talking about setting up the meet and greet for all the selectees this weekend

From the scuttlebutt, they are doing what they can to get them out this week, but next week is the fall back.

Think most everyone is going to bed...it’s 2330 on the west coast, if the results are out on the second it’ll be tomorrow at 1100 EST...(based on previous years obviously). Get some rest, hopefully everyone has a great day tomorrow!

Well I should be sleeping because I had the late watch. It’s 1530 but I’m wide awake because of all the rumors. Eek

Yeah, I don't think this week either. I'm looking forward to another relaxed weekend with the family. Our wing had a meeting with the Force MC yesterday probably confirming all we've already heard.

      PACT Act Update: VA Signs Up 280,000 New Veterans, But Some Are Still Left Out

      The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs has signed up more than 280,000 new veterans and completed roughly 900,000 new toxic exposure claims under the expansion of the PACT Act, a Biden administration move that sped up the implementation of a 2023 law aimed at securing benefits for veterans exposed to burn pits overseas. Veterans who had exposure to some toxic substances during their military service, whether they deployed or not, became eligible for VA health coverage under the legislation as of March 5. Former service members who served as far back as the Vietnam War can have their health care costs covered for a long list of possible illnesses considered service connected, including those from exposures during domestic training or assignment.

These officers will be considered for department head in the FY25 Aviation Department Head Screen Board (ADHSB) scheduled to convene in the spring of 2024. Additionally, eligible officers must have an Active Duty Service Obligation (ADSO) associated with undergraduate flight training ending in FY20 or later. Please consult the program information for a full listing of eligibility criteria. The application opportunity commences with the release of this NAVADMIN and closes on 31 August 2024. c. Contracts are offered with either a three, five or seven-year obligation that begins upon expiration of the officers winging ADSO or contract approval, whichever is later.
