I'm on AT with my unit until the end of next week, been refreshing this thread on every break just waiting to hear something. Hopefully we hear something soon, and hopefully it's good news for everyone here.

Haven't heard any rumors of Callout yet with CNP.  If anyone has eyes on his schedule that is usually the best clue.

Tony: The recorder would be for the Active duty CPO board. I don't see how that board would influence the results of the SELRES/FTS. Thoughts? Chief

I just got word from our CMC that the Reserve Force  Master Chief said results will be out by 4th of July, so there is still hope this week.

Selres usually wait for the active component to start the season anyway. At least at my unit

 

I would say your unit is the exception vs the rule.

My NOSC has said if the results come out before our JUL 11 & 12 DWE, we are going to start that weekend and every weekend thereafter until pinning.  We will also put in for ADT time for the last full week or so and will be doing the final 24 with the active peeps.

If the results mirror last years release (last Thursday of June), then we are looking at 6 days!!!   But who's really keeping track :D

Staying with my original date and say the 24th! That being said I had dreamed I got the "S"  off the internet prior to the TRIAD and was thinking should I tell them I knew already or act like I did not know, then I WOKE UP! lol Here is wishing we all get it!

Trying not to think about it. Been working on my E6 November eval. Trying to pretend chief doesn't even exist! Lol

I had a dream the other day !!!! It was crazy I was in the CPO mess for a mentorship session and then CMC walked in and told me I was selected !

     Personally, my brain spins practically out of control, from the day I take the exam...will there be any quotas or not? did I pass?... did my command screw something up on my profile sheet?... check the exam results daily from February until whenever they are released... why can't I access the Advancement website from home?... has the board convened?... is my record up to date?... are there any quotas?... why is the Navy doing this to me?...why does the Navy not publish a list of board eligible petty officers for the reserves?... profile sheet shows good to go when accessed during a drill weekend... someone suggests checking it frequently to make sure I'm still board eligible...can't access profile sheet from a non gov computer...board convenes...OMG 8 quotas for 114 eligibles...a 7% chance to advance...better than 0%... another drill weekend, profile sheet says I'm still board eligible...will my record get tossed in the initial review?... the board finishes, what's next?...the scrub...I should be good to go...how could I possibly beat out practically a Company of other Seabees for one of 8 spots?...Gov computers got hacked, SF86 data compromised...I've got a pending investigation for security clearance renewal, how will this affect me?... don't get your hopes up...just plan for the worst, and hope for the best...what will I tell my civilian employer if I make it? I'm gonna need another month off for the Navy?...I'm not gonna be selected...but maybe, just maybe I will be...why am I a failure?...I should be proud to have served, and be an outstanding First Class Petty Officer....Why are there only 10 people contributing to this forum?... who will pin my anchors on?... My Cap?...I'm not going to be selected, so just start getting ready to serve another year as a First, another year of CPO365...another year of the same neurosis...What's taking so long?... just a sample of the thoughts that have gone through and go through my mind every waking moment. I just keep telling myself, there's nothing I can do at this point except be ready for either scenario, Selected or not

Yeah, I hear you....I'm actually not as crazy as I sound, I was kinda trying to give everyone a laugh.

I watched YouTube vids on chief pinning, Indoc....pretty much whatever I could find. So this year I'm trying not to obsess and hoping to reverse the trend!

The process is a little drawn out so it leads to a rediculous level of obsessive thoughts.  Basically 6 months from exam to results.  Than 6 months of bitterness for being passed over.  What I tried to do was focus the obsession on improving my chances for the next year.  Where was I weak and what could I do to fix it.  Problem is it probably won't be seen until the following year, depending on what it is.

 

For anyone that gets passed over this time, try to look honestly at your record and see what can be improved.  Think strategically, examples:

 

-Most people go on AT in Q3 and Q4.  That means if you go on AT in Q1(especially) or Q2 you have a significantly better chance of being selected for SOQ if someone puts you in for it.  If your CoC is lazy about submitting packages talk to your SEL or LCPO anout it and write your own package and hand it to them.

-If you lack high level collateral duties, go to Career Counselor or CFL school, Command Financial Specialist, Safety PO and NROWS/DTS are other decent ones.

-Look at your evals and the precept and make sure that things on the precept are mentioned in your next eval if they are missing.  Key words, Sailorization, Brilliant at the Basics, Mentorship, Retention, Advancement, Recognition... etc.

-Go to a "C" School to earn an NEC to show In-Rate proficiency.

I will say this. Even though I was disappointed with the Ns, I wasn't ready to be promoted. I've learned something with every pass over. I do finally feel like I'm truly ready now, just not getting hopes up.

I'm taking the approach of not doing everything I can for me to make chief, but doing everything I can to be the PO1 my sailors deserve. Everything else will take care of itself.
