WASHINGTON — A federal judge revoked the pretrial release for a Navy reservist awaiting trial on charges stemming from the Jan. 6 Capitol riot last week following his conviction in Virginia for possessing unregistered silencers. U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden ordered Hatchet Speed, of McLean, Virginia, back into custody on Friday after a jury in the Eastern District of Virginia convicted him earlier this month of possessing multiple silencers disguised to look like cleaning supplies.

Four dry docks the Navy uses to overhaul nuclear submarines in Washington are temporarily closed after the service found they are at risk for earthquake damage, service officials told USNI News on Thursday. The dry docks, three at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility in Bremerton, Wash., and the delta pier at the Trident Refit Facility in Bangor, Wash., are still certified to overhaul nuclear submarines, but the Navy has decided to keep the dry docks empty pending further investigation.

A nurse accused of hitting and killing a U.S. Navy chief petty officer with his car after a dispute at a Virginia Beach bar in July was indicted this month on new charges. Joshua Ceruti Robinson was initially charged with malicious wounding, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, after police said he hit 40-year-old Stephen “Tyler” Murphy with his car. A grand jury indicted him on one count each of involuntary manslaughter and hit-and-run, which both carry maximum sentences of 10 years, according to Macie Allen, a spokesperson for the Virginia Beach commonwealth’s attorney.
