FY 15 Chief Selection Board

So, more from my "H"......  I had an NJP back in 2009 that is not in my OMPF, but is written on my NOV09 eval and in NSIPS.  My CO received a letter that in a nut shell states that I was selected by the FY15 Selection Board, but the CNP needs more information on my NJP before he will fully approve it.  After tons of phone calls to Senior Chiefs and Chiefs around the fleet, I have been told that everything will be ok and that once they receive that letter and the CO's eandorsement I should be good.  There are 55 other FCPO's that were selected but put on hold.  If anyone else out there is in my boat, please let me know, maybe we can work together.

Pretty much exactly the same as me. NJP in 2009. I'm submitting a letter and trying to get letters from my past two XO's and CMC's.

Congrats to all the Selects! Be prepared for the next challenging 6 weeks of your Naval career. Only advice I will give is for you and your Select Brothers and Sisters to come together and work collectively as a whole...It is no longer about being an individual. Those of you that still have that attitude will need to transition now to place yourself in a team mindset in order for your Season to be successful. Have Fun and don't take anything personally.

CMC just called me. I wasn't on either list! Select or Non( or H for that matter) I'm a HYT waiver. My test was originally invalid because I was HYT. They ran the waiver, got it approved and said I made it to the board. CMC said he's trying to get to the bottom of it but more than likely at this hour I'll just find out myself tomorrow. Anybody else? I hate having false hope especially with this my last shot. But a little crisis management is how I've always operated i guess. I can't access ANYTHING CAC related on NKO. My results from last year have been removed so I hope I did at least for sure get boarded. I just wanna know already.

I received the "S" FCC(SEL). This forum is awsom and helped me get through the last few weeks. Congrats to all that made it and for those who didn't I was in your shoes were I sat there and wondered what do I have to do to make it. All I can say is keep pushing and you have to believe next year will be your year.

Just found out a little while ago that a great friend of ours who has been board eligible for 11 years and was 10 months away from retiring MADE CHIEF today!!  So excited for this family!!  Wanted to let all of you who have received the "N" multiple times, that these kinds of stories do exist!  I know the board process can be trying, but continue to get every qual your rate needs and make your sailors better every day!  

Congrats to those of you who got the "S" today.  Pretty soon you may feel like Phase 2 is going to last forever, but don't worry...pinning day is coming  !

For those who are discouraged and truly have met all the requirements laid out in the precepts, etc. You need to remember that it gets so competitive, especially in some rates....that what separates N from S is fractions of a point! Don't be discouraged, keep pressing.

I've been following this board every year for the past 6 years. Including the time when "that" happened.

 

Finally got my "S".

 

Congrats to all and if you didn't get selected my only advice is to keep pushing. Sometimes you can do everything right but you need to wait for the quotas to catch up with you.

Again congrats to everyone that made it.  How many other MA's are on this forum that finally got the S?  I am extremely humbled to have gotten it after only my second attempt.  I am truly blessed.  

 

Congrats to all those that did get selected.  

 

For those that didn't, keep on pushing and remember why it is that you do what you do.  This is an obstacle for you to overcome.  A few years ago I got PTS final denied, and look at me now.  Never give up on anything that you set out to accomplish.
