Got it! Okay so that is the NOSC for me.... which means I will likely have to wait longer for them to tell my CoC :(

Thanks for y'alls expertise!

Just contact the NOSC CMC tomorrow. If your Unit has a CMC or SEL, the NOSC CMC will let them know tomorrow. PM me if you do not hear from any one after the 24 hrs. I am a NOSC ESO, and I will be able to view your profile sheet

I seriously think today is the longest day of my life...ever.  Longer than the day I spent in the labor with my last child...I'm pretty sure today is never going to end.

So they say Triad at 11 tomorrow, make sure you all have your point of contacts and whatnot. Then on the 8th the public release but those affected (at least most) should know by then

Whats frustrating me the most is I have no Navy leadership in my CoC. I work directly for a Air Force LT and the next step is a Army COL.  From there my CoC is staffed with a 1 star Air Force General for CO, 1 star Air force XO, and a Army E-9 for the SEL.  I guess ill find out Wednesday.  lol

Hello all.  I wanted to wish everyone the best of luck tomorrow for that S.

I am both nervous and excited and just want to get this part over so we can

move on whether it's the S or N.  I know for me, I pray that this is my year.

Looking forward to great news tomorrow. :)

For some of you, this could be your last night as a First Class Petty Officer. Enjoy a night with the family if you can. Good luck!

With the FTS community being so small I just find it extremely difficult to believe the selection process is anonymous.

All the best to everyone in the running. Thanks to those here who have posted insight to the process. Tomorrow will be a white-knuckle day for sure. Cheers!

This is my twilite tour, there will only be one maybe two more opportunities for me  to put on anchors, I honestly don't know what else I could do for my package to improve my odds. That being said if I don't  get the nod I will be happy with my performance when it comes to taking care of my Sailors and I will hold my head up high and be happy for those who do get Selected. There are 85 in my community who hope they are one of the seventeen so here is wishing everyone the best ! See you all tomorrow

I am new to the forum as a registered user, but I have read it for years.  It is interesting seeing the numerous posts from respective members stating their entire "Triad" is out of pocket.  This leads me to believe the Triad message and manner of distribution varies from NOSC to NOSC.  I am basing this from my own experience last year, where I learned my NOSC sends out a message to every Chief, or at least every Triad under the NOSC notifying them of every CPO select under the NOSC.

In my situation, I was waiting in an airport gate about to fly home for the weekend when I received two congratulatory text messages from a Chief and a Senior Chief.  One I had deployed with before he made chief and the Senior, I had worked with and served under going back to when he was still a PO1 and later my SEL in one of my units. At the time, I was so exhausted from the six month TDY I was on with weekly flights, that I had completely forgotten the message was due to come out. I was not serving with either Chief at the time, and one did the return to Active Duty deal, and was 4 hours away from my NOSC in a school, while preparing and awaiting orders to where he would return to the Fleet.

Both received the same email from the NOSC.  Needless to say, I was psyched and immediately called my wife to tell her the news, but since the message was internally delivered or from the Triad, I was not going to share it with anyone else until it was public.  As I was waiting for my plane to board my mind was racing about what was in store for me.  I thought about what I had accomplished in the Navy then being told I made Chief, I began to question myself as to whether I was up to the task and I don't mean by way of indoctrination or CPO Phase II or any of the activities associated with being selected.  I started thinking hard about what it really means to be a Chief, and the many that had inspired me over the years.  I wondered if I would be able to hold myself to the same standard or higher, how would I improve the careers of sailors junior to me and meet the expectations Officers I would serve under.  I wondered what improvement to my performance I needed to make as a Chief and more importantly, how I would sustain that performance, before I would feel worthy. I have always held myself to a higher standard than the standard those hold me to. The next thing I thought about, which I guess is funny, is how much it was going to cost me to purchase the required uniform items, I know it is expensive.

Finally, my plane began to board and as I stood in line, I received a call from one of the Chiefs that sent me the text message, the Senior Chief, and when I answered, the next thing I heard was "I am so sorry".  He sounded really deflated and bad.  It turns out that the PO that sent out that broadcast message out to the Chief's or Triad's under the NOSC, did a cut and paste of spreadsheet that included those who were selected as well as those who were not selected and as you all know, most messages are received by mobile devices today and that formatting of the spreadsheet got really messed up on the mobile devices of the two Chief's that reached out and it looked as if I was selected when in actuality, I was not.

I felt worse for Senior than I did for myself, and I recovered immediately.  I told him was completely understandable and that he wasn't the only one who reached out to me.  I then sent a message to the Chief in school awaiting orders back to the Fleet and he couldn't believe and said he would open his email when he got back to his quarters that afternoon, and he later sent me a follow up apologizing.  During the flight I had a missed call from my SEL and I was never did get him on the phone that night, but I have a feeling he too got the message on his mobile device and probably had it wrong as well.  Apparently, this master message that goes out from my NOSC usually only lists those who made it and that is what added to the confusion, the pasting of the spreadsheet malformed the columns and rows containing the "S"s and "N"s.

I didn't take an oath dependent upon being selected as Chief some day and that Sailor's Creed we all memorized so long ago?  Well, that is rate agnostic and all about being a Sailor first.  As far as I was concerned nothing was lost, but everything was still there to gain and it was time to go back and keep doing what we do.

My reason for sharing this experience is for those who may be concerned they won't find out their results when they should because their Triad being on leave; there is a good chance someone outside of your Triad has the results and it just may not be a bad thing waiting until you see it in black and white on BOL, under your own record, with your own eyes.  If it isn't your year, take time and reflect on everything you have achieved, if it bothers you, don't let it show and channel that disappointment into a positive foot forward working hard at your goal and keep on it.  If the time comes to retire or move on and you haven't made it, go with your head high and be proud of what you have accomplished, because you belong to a very select category of Patriot of which less than 1 percent of the population today does - YOU SERVED.

Wishing all of you the best on being selected!
