As I was walking around the squadron some of my fellow Firsts (many of whom are eligible themselves) told me only one more day of being a First.  I gotta say it feels good that they think highly of my chances but history tells me that being an AWF does not guarantee me anything.  I feel like I have a strong package but I am deployed right now with one Chief with me so we will see.  Here's to hoping I get a call and my DET ends shortly.  Hard work either way!  This wait is killing me too, just like I see it is for many of you as well.  Get good rest today folks!  Tomorrow is gonna be dicey and for 4000 Sailors our lives are gonna change.  For those that don't make it, don't get down, keep pressing and leading.  Do what we've been trained to do.  Making Chief is not the thing that is going to define success in our careers.  Train our replacements and remember we didn't get to this point alone.  :)

You just gave me a revelation. Today I am going to be grateful for being able to wake up and get out of bed unassisted and be First Class Petty Officer in the United States Navy. On the other hand...I hate how fast time flies when you don't want it to. But when you want it to it moves by the second. Good luck all.

You are absolutely right. Really though the time has flown by through SBE results to now. Summer is almost over, kids are going to school and....oh yeah, Football time is here!! Being grateful for what we already have and have accomplished is a great way to be. I know I am grateful for everything the Navy had given me regardless of what happens tomorrow. I have 2 Masters Degrees due to my service in the Navy! Something I never thought was possible growing up. Thanks for the reply!! Good luck!!

So I asked my command chief this morning if there was anything I needed tomorrow or to have ready to go...He looked at me and said "I'm not going to (expletive) with ya.."  I'm scared more now that ever...I'm the only board eligible first at my command.

Two Masters Degrees. That's awesome. You definitely know how to use your resources. Education is going to be my next focus. I am 16 credits away from my Bachelors Degree. I need to finish that up. Way to go. You are winning already.

So for the 2nd year in a row, all members of my triad are on travel the week the results come out. As of right now, NO ONE at my command has the access level required to view the results tomorrow. We have a newly reported SCPO who is trying to get his paperwork in and access granted before tomorrow. He has a way of making things happen, but it's still nerve wracking to know that with only 24 hours left, we don't have anyone here with TRIAD access.

That's one of the issues discussed in the past about the latest release method - no Triad.

Thank Senior Chief for trying!

It doesn't help that I'm at a joint command. I think last year, a SCPO had to reach out to another command to pull our info or call BUPERS directly. I can't recall, but I definitely remember the SBE and myself were stressed that all the other Navy folks on the base were getting their notification and all we could do was sit and wait. Our CMC outright admitted that we tend to get promotion info late (like the E4/E5/E6 results were a day or two late here), but that's how it rolls at joint commands. He didn't seem to inclined to try and fix the problem, just gave us the "that's the way the cookie crumbles" attitude.

Wow, these are the kind of stories I hear. Each command sets their own policy in this regard and I think it is a problem that needs to be fixed. How the results were released is the big reason the Navy chose the Triad method in the first place. I'll be throwing up a poll on the 5th about that.

It would take a set date to fix that, but I do have to say that your entire triad gone at the same time is peculiar!

The triad all being gone at the same time thing happens a lot where I'm at. However, that's kind of expected on flag officer staff duty. Luckily though, they've always been here for all the result releasing times.

I think it requires a commitment by leadership to fix it.

It's not too peculiar. Being a joint SOF command, so many people go TDY, deploy, or take leave so often, it's rare that all TRIAD members are here at the same time.

Fair point, but I am not privy to his COC situation so I was trying to refrain from blaming the leadership (not saying that you are I am just rambilng and my mind is not straight at the moment so I guess that explains a lot.......I will stop now!)

I officially don't like knowing when the results will be out.  Today is the worst.  I would rather not know. I sleep much better.  I was hoping that the results would be released earlier, (today), but hey, who needs sleep anyway.

Well, I am, but don't stop, its funny watching you loose it in the last 24hrs. We'll have the Triage station starboard-side!

Where are you at?  That has happened here at my NSW command and hoping my joint command that I am reporting to in November isn't like this.

Everyone who was told to have NSU's ready should walk into the mess after results and just ask for their Khaki pants...

not sure if serious or setting me up for a good butt chewing!
