Long time lurker, figured I'd finally sign up.  I'm a spouse- my husband is up for chief for I believe the 5th time this year. I've been lurking on this forum every year and you guys have never failed in keeping us informed- Thanks for that. I'm really hoping that my husband gets it this year, but the rejection has only caused him to step up more and work harder. I can tell he's really itching to make it this year after spending a few months as acting chief of his division, so here's hoping.  Good luck to everybody this year!!

I do to know why but for some reason I just started looking over my evals like i was reevaluating myself to see if there was anything that I could have done more. Not like it's gonna help out any lol. Just the nerves I guess. Back here on beach det while the triad is on the boat. Gonna be interesting come Thursday morning.

Results will be to the Triad on Thursday 03 August 2017 for Active and FTS/SELRES at 1100 with the NAVADMIN coming at 0800 on Friday the 4th. That's official.

Well poo.  I was holding out a slim hope for next week so on the off chance I do get selected I can enjoy the concert next Wednesday right before the results.  Good luck to all those waiting, having a date is better then wondering when the shoe is gonna drop.  With my PRT failure still on my record I'm not giving myself the best odds at being selected, but won't know for sure until Thursday.

To make it short and sweet things most of us already know. And he could only say so much without breaking the rules.

CPO365- more points than we think and it shouldn't be "Active member". SEJPME/ PPME.FCPOA/POA-holds more weight than we think.Same with MOVSM.

It was a detractor when a First eval has only his/her accomplishments, and not their Junior Sailors accomplishments .

Another detractor was not having OMPF updated. Someone OMPF not being updated since 2008 and not sending in a LTB. How can they know about any new quals?

Careery Summary Letter-ok but only 1 page snap shot of last 5 years.

Don't send in College transcript in LTB should send Diploma or have transcript loaded in OMPF.

Being an instructor at a command and taking 2-2 1/2 years to get MTS.

If someone fails a PRT within the 5 years, it's what you do after it. CFL/ACFL, leading CPO365 PT Lead or leading PT.

Long time lurker - you guys are all hilarious - decided to jump in. Not thinking I'll make it this year, but I meet all of these wickets listed above with CPO365 heritage coordinator, AA degree, BA degree in Intel Studies, SEJPME/PPME, volunteer coordinator with a lot of events on deployments and all of that. 24% is pretty good for IS, but I see a lot of other people talk about what they've done and they've all but cured cancer so I dunno. All my evals are above R/S average except my 2 welcome aboard P's from my last 2 commands and I'm going in with an MP this time. Mostly just thinking out loud, but it sounds like everyone in here has a pretty good shot - I hope you all make it!

I'm just trying to figure how they will notify me... I will be on an international flight at the time. My phone won't work when I get to the states. I guess I will just have to wait to read it on here :/

So, if selected who calls me? I just checked out of one command and planned on checking into the new command Friday. Both commands say if selected I will be doing initiation with them. Also both commands are literally across the street from each other. Oh, and my orders stated check out in August from old command check into new command in September.

You've already done the homework and turned it in! There is no reason to nitpick your package now. Just enjoy the last (possible) non-stressful evenings you have. Throw on some netflix and rest up.

I wish I could but I am out to sea!!! So I am just floating in the water counting down the hours until "the moment" arrives!!!

Best of luck to everyone! I have the same feelings and hope for the best. I took a look at my "love me binder" yesterday and went through my evals and package. I know its late but it's just one of those things where Im asking myself if I've done everything on my part to get the S! Alot of my mentors are rooting for me which is great and encouraging but I wish they would just leave it alone only because I don't want to hear the aftermath if I don't get selected. Oh and on another note; I really dislike the people that talk about how waiting and how being anxious about the results is dumb. I don't know about them but as a 3rd, 2nd, and now 1st we were always anxious to find out if we made the next rank so why is going up for Chief any different???

I agree that it shouldn't be different along with the disappointment of you didn't make it. Last year someone said I was devastated when I was just looking to a few people to see what I needed to do to get the S.

Just Curious, now that we know when the results are out, if selected what will you bring to your Chief's Mess?

Honestly I don't know yet, never thought about it. If anything we will learn how can we contribute to the mess

An open mind. A memory of where I came from, and an idea of what I want to attempt to be like. Someone who is trusted and able to take care of my guys. If your guys aren't happy, they won't want to work for you.  I understand mission first, but if you don't take care of the people, the people won't take care of you.

I would first and foremost tell my wife that after the 6 week ordeal I would take her out to dinner and celebrate for all the sacrifices she makes which support our career.  I would then bring loyalty and teamwork to the mess. I would look for guidance from my brothers and sisters like I do as a First Class and ask questions to help me get through whatever obstacles are put in front of me.
