Me too. At the beginning I had to put admin (me) under the bad word filter too just to remind myself.- 2,655 replies

I'll explain the cuss word guidelines as best I can. I've already mentioned about how family members visit this forum to see if they can get any information on their loved ones that they cannot communicate with for various legitimate reasons. When someone makes a post with a word that is filtered such as S#!t, someone uninitiated will feel compelled to spell out the complete word in their posts. That is not all. True to form, talk will (and has) degenerate to a very low form because people for some reason think they can do that on this forum - they cannot. The worst one on this forum? Discussion of sex in s#!t. So your post may seem innocent enough but for others, innocent is in the eye of the beholder. And the guidelines also mention not to respond to a post that has broken the guidelines for the very reason of not allowing it to degenerate any further.- 2,655 replies

in the days of yore, an admin type would post on this forum when the board adjourned. Since the method changed to the Triad release, there has been less importance placed on that event. For my part, I'd still like to know.- 2,655 replies

If there is a hint of discrepancy, they will investigate thoroughly. And I don't know why anyone at the pinnacle of their career would jeopardize their position by breaking the oath or honor code.- 2,655 replies

Right. And if I remember correctly two incidents involved board members. Again though, can't hold me to it because that's when I'm busy with the server/ forum stuff.- 2,655 replies

Yes, even as the posts were flying here on the forum it happened, twice I think (maybe 3?). First a rumor then confirmed - true to life as a few admin hookups we had were telling me to stand by for high winds and heavy seas. I don't remember the particulars because when the wait starts I'm usually behind the scenes with the server. One particular funny one (after the fact). You know how a new page starts after so many posts on this forum right? Well someone posed a hypothetical question about the breach, someone replied and it was at the top of a new page. A chief saw only the response and started blasting everybody including the Duke of Edinburgh about the prior cycle breach and how this forum was going to put a stop to the release. I simply told him to read the prior post.- 2,655 replies

Very bad. They would investigate and careers put on line. There would be a delay. So bad it make some older members of this forum cringe from past discussion.- 2,655 replies

Public release is always 24 hrs later from the Triad release. Everyone is choosing the 3rd as the Triad date. The public release would come out on the 4th. This gives Triad, CO, XO, CMC, time to do their leadership thingy.- 2,655 replies

Yeah, I don't see where anyone can agree with that either. Simply tell the Sailor what you plan to do, don't be sneaky about it - just a bad command. Yes, there is a caching issue. What you can also do (I do too) is to refresh the page. Sometimes you have to do it twice. It will then show the proper state (logged in). Thanks much for the heads up.- 2,655 replies

By Mass Communication Specialist Seaman Apprentice Josiah Pearce, USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) Public Affairs NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (NNS) -- Thirty Sailors aboard aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) received advancement through the Meritorious Advancement Program (MAP) during a surprise frocking ceremony July 8, in the ship's aft galley. The MAP program is offered to Sailors as a way to recognize superior performance while working in a rigorous operating environment. The command promotions resulted in three new petty officers 1st class, eight new petty officers 2nd class and 19 new petty officers 3rd class. Engineman 1st Class Janceley Acosta Lucena was surprised and excited about her new role as a petty officer 1st class. "I love what I do; I love my job, and I really want to do 20 years in the Navy," said Lucena, who credits her success to the Sailors she leads. "I'm overjoyed; it's a dream come true." The promotions these Sailors received will put them in positions of increased authority and responsibility. Chosen by their chain of command, the surprise advancement is a direct result of their proven hard work and dedication to the Navy. Aviation Ordnanceman 1st Class Brittnie Huskey, now a petty officer 1st class as well, attributed her success to her dedication to become not only a better Sailor, but also a better person. "It's important to stay focused and do what you have to do," said Huskey. "Don't just get the qualifications you need, but go above and beyond. It will make you stand out." Lincoln is undergoing a refueling and complex overhaul at Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries. Once RCOH is complete, Lincoln will be one of the most modern and technologically advanced Nimitz-class aircraft carriers in the fleet and will continue to be a vital part of the nation's defense. For more information, visit www.navy.mil, www.facebook.com/usnavy, or www.twitter.com/usnavy. For more news from USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), visit www.navy.mil/local/cvn72/.

Okay folks, the countdown has a 13 to 21 window before the Triad release. If you want to vote simply post “vote (selected date)”, I will then update the countdown. Extra dates will be listed below the countdown until there is a 2 vote count where it will then be listed in the top three as appropriate. So don't feel compelled to choose only a date that is there. Also, if you are lurking, feel free to join the forum and share in the festivities. Family is always welcome too. (we do have a couple of moms as members.)- 2,655 replies
