  1. I've told this story but here it is for the newbies. Before the internet grabbed hold, message traffic was king. And some who handled that traffic would visit this site (NavyAdvancement.com is over 18 years old.) One of them went by the username "Career Counselor." However they do it, he would know exactly 24 hours ahead that the results were out for the E-4 - E-6. He would come on and post, saying the results would be out in 24 hours. At the beginning, people would miss his post because they were yaking a million miles a minute. I caught the first time he posted and every time afterwords. He would only post once. After awhile, I'd kind of hint "hey somethings up" so people would stop yaking. Then people started catching and then eventually waiting for him. And that's when it got funny. He would only come on to post that the results were coming. He would forget his password, or his account might be purged or something and he'd come back and say "Tony, I can't remember my account, can you get me in?" or the "I don't have an account can you get me in?" So I would set him up and he would post "expect the results in 24 hours" and log out and leave. As suddenly as it started, it stopped. Never even got to say hello to that guy - nothing.
  2. Yes, I posted my thoughts on that as I have every year. I know there are some doubters out there but those are the ones that believe a fairy flies in, delivers the messages and updates the database through the wonderful world of Disney without anyone seeing anything. synopsis: the databases (this forum is database driven too) has to be purged, then updated. It has to go on a holding pattern of which I do not know about. The Navy has more manual parts to it I believe. That's what I look for. At the beginning, about 100% people were like "no way." Now, it's only the noobies - who should learn how to respect their elders.
  3. My vote is for this week. Don't have a day.

  8. If it's not classified it should be okay. Also if it's a long one, I'd rather put it up as a link. Just let me know.
  9. have to do another reboot in t-5 minutes, for a security update.
  10. As funny as that is, the guidelines do mention about copyright material. (actually hilarious but...)
  11. Agree. Go in total relax mode, because you are most likely stressed, because of your situation, and go to the funeral. Take it one step at a time.
  12. Still a lot of people who have not clicked the validation email. Please check your spam folder and whitelist NavyAdvancemet.com
  13. There are some that have not replied to the validation email. You might want to check your spam folder and whitelist NavyAdvancement.com. You need to reply to that email.
  14. Okay, I'm back - reboot in T-5 minutes...
  15. This server may crash and I might not be able to get to it for a little while. No worries though, I'll get it when I get back.
  16. Yes, set up and fully functional. I've even added dental floss this year, got that idea from an HM! First aid station over by vulture's row everyone!!
  17. That is true you know, everyone rushing over there to check.
  18. I'm sure that will happen afterwards and is not database driven. (if I'm thinking of the same page.)
  19. I cautiously think they are updating the database with the results. Or preparing it to load the results. Someone had asked earlier if anyone else knows about the results before the CNP and I forgot to mention also the developers/ administrators who update the database. They need to do their thingy too.
