  2. Claims by Trump administration officials that the man fatally shot by a federal agent in Minneapolis lacked a right to possess a firearm and that his killing was justified are being dismissed by legal experts and assailed by gun rights groups ordinarily aligned with the president.

The rhetoric from Trump law enforcement officials, including his FBI director and the top Border Patrol agent, goes against the decades long GOP effort to throttle gun control rules.

  3. 😮 Now guess what the Russians & Chinese are going to do? trump should have kept his mouth shut...

WASHINGTON -- President Donald Trump said the U.S. used a secret weapon he called “The Discombobulator” to disable Venezuelan equipment when the U.S. captured Nicolás Maduro. Trump also renewed his threat to conduct military strikes on land against drug cartels, including in Mexico.

  4. Dr. Bruce Davidson told the Daily Beast Podcast that he believes an overlooked detail from President Trump’s January Wall Street Journal interview about his health proves he’s hiding a previous stroke.

“I read the report that he was taking 325mg of aspirin, and that is only recommended for people who’ve had a stroke to prevent a second stroke from a partially blocked artery,” Davidson told host Joanna Coles on The Daily Beast Podcast.

  5. The NDS, which lays out how the Defense Department will follow the guidance of the National Security Strategy (NSS), is traditionally considered a foundational document for the Pentagon. But in a contrast with past releases, the department chose an unusual lack of fanfare: it emailed the document with no warning at almost 7:00 pm on a Friday, when the entire east coast is focused on a major snowstorm that is approaching.

  6. Editorial Board member Holman W. Jenkins, Jr. has written that at 79, Trump “needs therapy more than the United States needs to own the island to ensure its defense.”

Mr. Trump’s preoccupation with owning Greenland, like his Nobel Prize obsession, would be best addressed elsewhere: in therapy,” Jenkins wrote. “I’m perfectly serious. Once he started unburdening himself of his insecurities and traumas, he probably wouldn’t stop for a week. The world, and the U.S., would be better for it.”

  7. As US troops carry out high-stakes missions from Venezuela to the Middle East, the Pentagon has waged an unlikely new battle at home: the war on sex toys.

In its latest culture-war skirmish, the Daily Mail can reveal military officials recently blocked the delivery of sex toys to troops overseas, igniting ridicule and debate over how far the military should police private life

  8. The Pentagon has told more U.S. military personnel to prepare for deployment to Minnesota, MS Now reported Wednesday, amid ongoing tensions over the Trump administration's immigration enforcement operations.

In a prepare-to-deploy order shared with the outlet by officials who sought to remain anonymous, members of an Army military police brigade in North Carolina were warned of a potential operation involving a few hundred soldiers.
