Good morning party people!  It's 1548 in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.  Here's hoping they are released today!

What ship are you on?  I just left GRIDLEY a few months back.

And this saga continues today for me as well.

Alrighty then, whoever contacted me about having issues viewing the forum thanks, that is the security thingy I was talking about and my hair stood up on end when I took a peek and saw a buttload of NMCI IPs being blocked. They are now unblocked and everyone can come back and sweat the load together.

I need to go back and find who that email was from...

Chiefs test is mid March for me. Trying to get mentally prepared for that.

Best of luck to you w/ LDO. If it happens to be an N, stay positive and best of luck on the CPO test.

I did email you this morning, but I'm at home and not on NMCI.

I think the TRIADs will get the results before BOL is uploaded (as with the other boards that have come out he past year).  We are trying to get back to the TRIAD notification standard. :)  WIth that being said, you can probably give the F5 key a little bit of a rest.  OPTAR cannot keep up with the keyboard replacement.  It's just not in the defense budget.  So save the keyboards and save the Navy some money.  You can even use it as an eval bullet. :D

I am so glad you told me that. It might happen again. If it does can you email me again asap? I was only concentrating on NMCI. In my panic I forgot to save the IPs so I don't know the other legit places that were blocked.

Thanks again

Question for everyone: Do you think that coming out of your command as 1 of 1 applicants hurts you? My command is considerably large, but I was the only person who put in the work to get the package done. I also just happened to be in the top 10 out of over 200 people last cycle....it's just that I don't want the board to think that I didn't have enough competition in the application process.

i was 1 of 1 this time around so curious about this

I was 1 of 2 last year and 1 of 3 this year...my last command had 16-18 applicants every year...but it was a much larger command.  Not sure if the lower numbers hurt you but guys/gals that get 1 of 15 or so probably do get a little nod for that.

From what I've been told, it really doesn't hurt you.  You can also get ranked within your appraisals "Best applicant I've interviewed this year".  And of course breakouts within your evals are important.  Don't worry too much about the 1 of 1 ranking.

1 of 1 as well ... my thought is that the board does not know your commands exact circumstances.
I come from a command with 20+ CPOs yet I am the only one to apply for CWO and 1 other applied for LDO; have 40+ FCPOs and only 1 applied for LDO.
Each command and circumstance is different and can not imagine being looked at negatively because no others desire to apply.

I agree with this. Two CWOs I've know to make it two and three years prior were 1 of 1.

I believe that the appraisal ranking isn't as important as breakouts on your evaluation.  I was talking to a good friend of mine that got picked up for 641x last year and he said he was 3 of 3 at his command with a P evaluation (it was his first year at his shore command).  So don't put too much weight on the ranking.  He certainly got picked up based on his evals in all, as he was a DOOW qualified First Class (then put on Chief), and was COMSUBPAC SOY... the 3/3 ranking was trumped but everything else outstanding he accomplished.

Just my 2 cents.

Command rankings mean nothing; evaluation break outs mean everything. I'll take an appraisal breakout over command ranking any day.
