My first application, not so much.  These last two have been pretty brutal though.  From October 1st until the day results are released, I pick it completely apart.

I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. After I submitted it, I put it in my vidmar and haven't touched it since. Only because at this point, I can't change anything. If my name isn't on the list, then I break it out and start red-inking it to start the next one and identifying what else I can do to be the "best and fully qualified" candidate the board wants.

How does it work on the active side as far as going to school? The reservists are all commissioned in October and have 12 months to attend LDO school.

According to OPNAVINST 1420.1B, selectees are assigned a "Date of Rank" and "Active duty selectees for LDO (ensign) and CWO will be required to attend ODS in Newport, RI. Attendance will normally occur enroute to the first duty station and normally not later than the end of the FY of appointment/commission."

Also, must be a commissioned LDO/CWO in the U.S. Navy under the provisions of OPNAVINST 1420.1B to attend the LDO/CWO Academy.

  4. Today is the day to get started on next year. Congrats to those that made the FY-18 list, now lets push and give ourselves the best shot at it in FY19.

From @Tony on the FY18 post:

For those wanting to get an early start in getting advice, networking and sharing, you can start here. Additionally, there is a CPO365 Phase I thread that many may find beneficial. To keep things organized for your sake, please discuss CPO365 stuff in that thread. It will make it easier and more relevant for later use.

The "To Do" & "Required Reading" list that you, the member, wrote and built.

More resources may be forthcoming but don't forget to start studying yesterday!

Good luck to everyone tomorrow. All this waiting will soon be over.

Remember no matter what the outcome tomorrow, remember at the end of the day regardless of if you are a first class, chief, or officer, our sailors still look up to us and it is our job to take care of them. Doing that is what got us to this point and continuing to do that will push us farther in our career.

Speaking of remembering our roots... I just happened to find my bootcamp "yearbook" today. I was instantly teleported through all of those times from then til now. Ahhh...the memories.
