Well that's terrible! I thought the whole point of CAC readers was to allow access anywhere. I'm not a wizard though, so I don't really know how computers work.
Yeah, I think it's strange to restrict access to profile sheets but not other sites with more PII, such as BOL.

I'm on an Air Force network, and I can access my profile sheets. To be fair, I have to use my military ID instead of my civilian CAC.
Profile sheet access will only work from a computer on a .mil domain. So a USAF networked PC will work, but a computer at home will not.

Soooo...
Game of Thrones and Rick and Morty? It's not like I was planning on sleeping or anything.

You too, brother!
Time to go on a hike with my family and then come home and relax a bit. -

And that you would compete against reporting people in same time. Also no more written input. Seems crazy to me.
Sounds a little too "sterile" to me.

He made a point to say BIG evaluation changes were headed out to fleet soon.
The only RUMINT I've heard about that is adjusting to a 10 point scale on the traits.
Has anyone else heard something about these changes? -

Besides CNP kinda took a shot at the CPO selection board to, kinda like he didn't think to highly of CPOs. Though I am not an IS so that's only my assessment. It was a junior crowd so maybe he was only pandering.
What did he say? I'm intrigued.

funny i listen to Gen Mattis and think, wait his higher pitch lisp is not what I expected to come out of Mad Dog...
I listened to an old crusty MCPO lead a group of CPOs in the Chief's creed today at a retirement ceremony.
Forceful, deep, scratchy and from the heart.
Exactly what I expected when I saw him approach the podium. -
I can help us reach 100 pages. I gotta earn my membership status back (under my username) that got reset somehow.

First post this season, so allow me to start off by wishing all selection eligible good luck! For my sailor, this was supposed to be his last look and so he gave it his all. If he was not one of the lucky ones to receive the coveted "S", due to HYT, he would have had to retire in January. Then a miracle was granted to him in the form of the HYT changes.
Although I work for the local American Job Center, as a Career Developer and Military Veteran Services representative, neither of us realized how ill prepared we were for the possibility of forced retirement. 20 years of service has flown by in the blink of an eye. Come "D" day, we will know if we will be celebrating his achieving his career goals, and planning for another 4 years of service, or breathing a huge sigh of relief that we have been granted the opportunity to better prepare for his eventual retirement. There is of course the added bonus of two extra chances to keep improving his package). I am beyond grateful for forums such as these that provide invaluable insight regarding selection, how to continually make improvements, where to go to get honest feedback, and the suppprt. You all rock!
First of all, thank you for your support to our military, both as a supportive wife and as a material supporter to those transitioning.
Second of all, thank you for the kind words. Your insight and contributions are welcome and encouraged here.
Thanks for stopping by, and welcome to the conversation! -

To all the FCPOs keep pushing and never give up!!!! You are one step away from joining the most exclusive fraternity the world has ever known, the Chief Petty Officers Mess.
One step that seems to take an eternity to make.

If worse comes to worst, we can always arrange a "CPO non-selectee carwash."

So for fundraisers, is it CPO mandated what do you get to pick your own? Also, what are the best fundraisers do you guys see ?
Breakfast burrito sale.
The infamous car wash.
Finding a retired CPO that has a sweet hobby (like making knives, carpentry, heritage stuff, etc...) and asking them to make a donation for a raffle...except legally you can't sell "raffle tickets" so you provide "opportunity tickets" in exchange for a donation.- 1

Since it's quiet here...
Do any other non-BM's here ever pipe the side at ceremonies?
I end up with the honor for every ceremony at my command. I have one tomorrow for a Chief's retirement, and I was especially honored that he also asked me to read "The Watch."

Does that mean a timeline was put out? And when will that be available to us?
Unfortunately, I'm not believing anything until I see it. -

It's be the AMRDEC notification email with whatever comments put in the file description that makes up the extra 1-2 pages.
Good to know.
So two pages of inconsequential nothingness to waste more of their time. -

They give the board the email it was sent in with as well
Hmm... I didn't submit it as an email. I submitted it on AMRDEC SAFE file transfer, as I always do, because I am unable to encrypt my emails from work. So, unless they also submitted the AMRDEC notification email with the link and random access password...

Yes it is. When you reenlist all training quals and what not gets updated in your OMPF. I wish I could've renlisted before the board. I've have been trying to get my ompf squared away for a year now. I've been going though the correct process and still nothing. So I keep sending my letter to the board with 9 attachments. I hope it's not looked upon negatively that it hasn't been fix yet.
When you reenlist all training quals and what not
getsshould get updated in your OMPF.
I learned that lesson the hard way. Always follow up!

This year, I submitted just my EXW cert and cover sheet for my LTB because my EXW cert wasn't going to make it in to my record in time. About a week after submitting the LTB (2 pages), I called NPC to confirm receipt. They told me that 4 pages were received and submitted to the board. Kinda strange why I submitted two but they "received" 4. My Chief told me to not worry about it...and I'm not worried...just thinking about it.

Geesh.
Give the rank the respect commensurate with it.
Give the person the respect they deserve.
Who cares if they have an anchor or bars or chevrons or stripes? To me, it doesn't matter if you're an 8 year Chief, a 6 year LT, a 19 year PO1, or a 6 month SN. I will refer to you by your rank and by the level of responsibility expected of your position. I will look at you as a leader because I think you're a leader.
