Only been on board 4 months and got the Welcome Aboard P and a below RSCA trait average, and every CPO that talked to me made it very clear I was getting it. But the write up is def way better than a P write up as told to me by the few CPOs that have seen it so hopefully that will speak enough at the board. Hopefully between that and the transfer eval my package will be an improvement from last year. Not much leadership in the 4 month but I’m also at a staff command so... but plenty in last years and the transfer with Sailors producing greatly as well as FY17 BJOY and JSOY. Just wanted to post that I highly encourage people who are up for Chief selection to reach out to your rating leads that have sat the boards. I just got my record review back from mine. They clearly highlighted things they thought were important and strong for me, things that are of concern and gave recommendations of what else I can do to make myself even more competitive. Keep pushing ladies and gents! FY20 here we come!

So I’ve just checked into my new command a month ago, so pretty much boned in this upcoming eval. 5 month eval with 2 months of projection. I keep being reminded by people that the board will see the dates and understand the lacking leadership due to short time and the linear progression to get into a leadership spot. I’m at a staff command so leadership “positions” are few and far between. Knocking out my job qual, warfare requal and some school. The board didn’t see my transfer eval so hopefully that will make up for this November eval they will also see next year. First things first let’s get past this January exam to become SBE. I’d like to be 2/2. Happy studying everyone.

FY-20 here we come. Let’s get started. I already have a plan of things I need to do this year. FY-20 will be my second time up let’s see how it goes. I have 18 credits until I finish my associates, just transferred to staff duty so leadership is going to be hard to come by. But hopefully can do something to affect/improve rating.

Got the N. Was first time up, I’m more disappointed than I thought I would be but I’ve only completed one tour in my current rating so guessing that’s a big reason for non selection. On to next year

Not that I have any anticipation of getting the “S” next week, but just in case some craziness happens I am taking the family on a little day trip tomorrow. I just wanted to throw a thank you out to everyone that has posted with guidance and advice on here. There are definitely a lot of knowledgeable Sailors in here and hope you all get that “S” you deserve! I hope everyone is having a good weekend and best of luck with results on Tuesday!

What is a little confusing for me is that the board finished a week early, were personnel to do the post board scrub and legal review not available the week early?

Never knew anyone at their first command, but 5yr 3 months (i think is what it was) is the fastest I knew of. But dude was LEGIT. Tech expert, great leader, wrote well...etc

So I was talking to someone and they brought up an idea. So back in like 2008 or 9 for the FTS results they pushed out the selectees but messed up the numbers and selected more than they were suppose to. So literally I knew people that had gotten selected but then it was taken back. Maybe they caught something like this and are trying to fix it?

@Tony I think you are talking about the guy who posted said that he heard if from several people all of whom had atleast one star on their collar that the legal review started late and it was gonna push the results a week
