  2. From Turkey...

Iran confirmed Sunday that it had attacked an oil tanker for defying orders not to cross the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

The state television reported that the tanker “was illegally attempting” to cross the passage.

Activists on social media circulated images of the oil tanker on the verge of sinking, with plumes of smoke rising from it after it was targeted.

Oman’s Maritime Security Center said early Sunday that four people were injured in an attack on a Palau-flagged oil tanker north of Khasab Port on the Srait of Hormuz.

  3. President Trump did not deliver a formal address to the American public to explain why the country was at war, a departure from his predecessors.

Mr. Trump did not scramble back to the White House from Mar-a-Lago, his private club and residence in Palm Beach, Fla., to oversee the U.S. and Israeli strikes. He did not deliver a televised address informing the public of the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was the nation’s supreme leader for nearly four decades.

Instead, the president was set to cap an extraordinary day of U.S. aggression abroad by attending a glitzy fund-raising dinner at his club.

  4. 🛑 I'll try to keep the updates here, focused if possible on the Navy portions but could include the wider conflict as a need to know of course. Updates will be towards the bottom...

👉 Some updates will not include links because some news organizations such as the respected PBS will not have the link to the article on the conflict...

Please note that this is a German newspaper. I haven't seen anything yet in the US news but will keep updating...

A massive fire is raging at the base of the 5th Fleet of the US Navy in Bahrain after a missile strike from Iran. The corresponding frames are published on the Web.

  5. The article says that a missile struck inside the base but the title states "near US Navy base in Bahrain." Not sure what's going on but I'll update if I get clarification...

Iran struck a US Navy base in Bahrain Saturday in a series of retaliatory attacks across the region after the US and Israel launched a multitude of attacks targeting Iranian regime officials and military targets, sources confirmed to The Post.

A massive explosion could be seen close to the base on the Persian Gulf Island nation associated with the US Fifth Fleet in video obtained by The Post.

The footage is taken from a vehicle passing by the area. A cloud of dark smoke blasts into the sky after the explosion, which then sends shrapnel flying in all directions.

“Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God,” the passengers can be heard shouting.
