The U.S. Navy Faces A Stark Choice—Buy More Oilers Or Risk Running Out Of Gas

Recommended Posts

The U.S. military could run out of gas—and fast—in a war with China. That’s the dire warning from John Bowser, a U.S. Army officer and analyst, writing at CIMSEC.

There might not be enough tankers in the U.S. Navy to keep the front-line fleet fueled up in combat. Nor, most likely, are there enough civilian tankers that the Pentagon quickly could hire for military use.
