It's called TAFMS not sure if it's still around but it's the minimum time in service to make rank which for E7 is 11 years. It would go that the Navy can only recommend 10% total of sailors across all rates with less then the minimum time.

Trust I will ive just seen good Sailors loss all motivation when something like this happens and it can be hard to reel them back in

Haven't had the opportunity to talk to leadership yet jus happened and I've only been here 2 months so don't have too much background on the candidates but on the surface it just rubs you the wrong way.

What do you guys think about a back to back JSOY and the current #1 EP E5 not getting mapped and he's not in a restricted rate¿ I'm not entirely sure how to counsel him.

Observation point is all you seem to be taking this personal and you also seem to be downgrading ppls accomplishments like I said before second time up and if I make it I have 10 years in from E1 to now never saw advancement opportunity above 26%. No one is taking away from your service just like you shouldn't take away from someone who did it faster than you. If someone is selected in one way or another they deserved it I saw one year LS sub was at 100% 28 out of 28 guess what all28 didn't make it only 13 these boards do the hard job even if we don't like it

I look at it as I'll be able to serve my Sailors and the Navy as Chief with the Mess behind me for at least 10 years. I'll take that.

I don't think it should be an automatic I can't respect you if you have two red strips just like it shouldn't be an automatic I have all the respect in the world for you because you have gold. We all have earned some form of respect by enlisted and based on who you are you either earn more or lose. This is my second time up and if I make it I'd be at 10 years I've earned my respect and plan to keep earning it if I am selected for anchors.

How come it seems like some SELs are getting info while others are not. You would think it would be across the board. Everyday my Master Chief sees me he says checked bupers nothing yet lol.

lol I'm in the same boat stellar record, 7 NECs, diverse duty stations, impact on command and Sailors documented but no MOVSM or degree. Would suck if that's my undoing.

I've seen people make it with a prt failure even better if you can become acfl of cfl after the failure or if you've been getting excellents or better submit your prims in your LTB and explain what you've done to overcome the failure.
