TOKYO -- A U.S. Navy sailor was indicted on Thursday in Japan on negligent driving charges related to a deadly vehicle crash, a Navy spokesperson said.
The sailor is affiliated with the U.S. Fleet Activities in Yokosuka, Japan, and was "involved in a motor-vehicle incident with a Japanese national on Sept. 18, 2024," Cmdr. Paul Macapagal, spokesperson for U.S. Naval Forces Japan, told ABC News in an emailed statement.

Aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN-68) will make one last homeport change, moving from Bremerton, Wash., to Norfolk, Va., before it starts the decommissioning process in 2026, USNI News has learned.
Nimitz and its crew of more than 3,000 will move to Norfolk by April 2026, according to a Congressional notice reviewed by USNI News. The nearly 50-year-old aircraft carrier is set to decommission in May 2026.

planning to in-service logistics and sustainment support. Nominees may come
from a variety of communities, to include, but not limited to: civil
engineering, supply, medical, fuel, ordnance and maintenance communities.
Contractors may be included on team award submissions but are not eligible to
receive monetary awards.
a. When completing OPNAV 5305/8, commands will separately address each
criteria category listed above and specifically address achievements within
those categories.
b. For any additional types of logistics or sustainment achievements,
commands must identify additional categories of achievements and

Authorities responded Thursday to a potential active shooter situation at a military base in Pensacola, Florida, but found no signs of a shooter. No injuries were reported.
The Escambia County Sheriff's Office and other agencies responded to reports of shots being fired at a building at Naval Air Station Pensacola's Corry Station, the sheriff's office said in a statement to CBS affiliate WKRG-TV.

The MyNavy HR Career Development Symposium (CDS) is coming to Hampton Roads, Va. from March 18 to March 20.
CDS is an engaging opportunity for Sailors to interact face-to-face with MyNavy HR leadership and learn crucial career-enhancing information. The U.S. Naval Community College, Navy COOL, and MyNavy Coaching are a few of the many professional development opportunities offered at CDS. Sailors can meet with their detailers, enlisted community managers and command pay and personnel administrators.
Naval Station Norfolk, Naval Air Station Oceana and Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story will host the symposium throughout the week. Each event will start with an all-hands call with Commander, Navy Personnel Command Rear Adm. Wayne Baze, senior enlisted leadership and other MyNavy HR leaders.
At CDS, Sailors are encouraged to ask questions, take surveys and give feedback on Navy personnel policy.

Fellow Vets and family who were fired by DOGE. I know that the below words that came out of Habba's mouth is not true. Alina Habba's poor ethics as a lawyer, and quest to be in the limelight most likely make her popular with trump. As the daughter of immigrants who fled Iraq, she should very well know how competent United States Veterans are after we put Saddam Hussein in his place: The very same dictator that led Alina Habba's parents to flee Iraq.
Additionally, as much as that lawyer has been admonished by judges, she should not question or judge anyone in regard to capabilities.

LONDON — President Donald Trump’s decision to pause American military aid to Ukraine is handing Russia's Vladimir Putin the upper hand on the battlefield and on the world stage, former officials and experts warned Tuesday.
* "Two White House officials said the defense assistance was being reviewed to make sure it was contributing to the administration's goal of being “focused on peace.”" - That is an absolutely ridiculous statement. Ukraine, a democracy, got invaded by Russia and its dictator Vladimir Putin. That specific goal does not align with reality. The reality is that Ukraine wants peace by having Russian troops get out of their country and their borders respected. What trump is more focused on is Ukraine's surrender.

When you’re serving on a Navy submarine with dozens of torpedoes and nuclear-tipped missiles, the best days are the boring ones. Boring on a submarine is good. Boring means everything is working like it should and everyone is doing what they are supposed to do.
But, like with so many aspects of military life, there are a million and one things that can go wrong. And when they do, the crew must lean on its training and respond within seconds—or everyone dies.
In October 1988, I faced such a day when a humanitarian transfer in rough seas led to a man overboard in frigid waters.
