    • Within a day of this collision, there were three more unidentified aircraft sightings over the Air Force's Barry Goldwater Range, where the fighter was damaged, the documents stated. Barry Goldwater Range is an expanse of desert along the Arizona-Mexico border where the military practices air-to-air and air-to-ground combat. The FAA's report of the F-16 collision revealed that the fighter was flying in restricted airspace near Gila Bend, Arizona , when it was hit by the object in the rear of the canopy, the glass bubble which protects the pilot.
    • A retired four-star Navy admiral was found guilty of a bribery scheme Monday following a three-day jury deliberation in Washington, D.C. Adm. Robert P. Burke, a former vice chief of naval operations who more recently served as the commander of naval forces in Europe and Africa before retiring in 2022, was convicted of bribery, conspiracy to commit bribery, and performing acts affecting a personal financial interest and concealing material facts. He has become the senior-most member of the United States military to ever be convicted of committing a federal crime while on active duty, according to The Washington Post. He was initially, arrested in May 2024.

    • A wild Japanese macaque has prompted multiple safety alerts from U.S. military bases in Japan, following reports of the animal appearing near installations and housing areas. Most recently, Naval Air Facility (NAF) Atsugi, located about 28 miles southwest of Tokyo, posted a community-wide warning after receiving sightings of a roaming macaque just outside the base.
