DALLAS (AP) — One of Scouting America’s biggest gatherings has eliminated dedicated spaces for gay youth, women and scouts of color as the organization faces pressure from the Pentagon to pull back diversity efforts. The changes at the National Jamboree, which ends Friday, reflect shifts made by Scouting America since the organization became a target of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over what he calls “woke” policies. Some scouts who had planned to attend the event in West Virginia said they backed out because Scouting America scrapped the inclusion initiatives it previously celebrated. -

BUPERS Online (BOL) and other personnel systems will be unavailable from 7 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EST) on Aug. 21, 2026, to 7 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EST) on Sept. 2, 2026, due to infrastructure modernization efforts on the servers that support these systems. Sailors planning to submit Letters to the Board (LTB) or other correspondence should do so before Aug. 20 because BOL will be offline after that date. Any changes to the correspondence timelines for Admin Boards scheduled for August and September will be communicated through board sponsor channels. Remember that taxpayers are paying for this incompetence and that our dominance at sea is being impacted... 👀 According to the latest press release, the Navy reported that with the decommissioning of the littoral combat ship USS “Fort Worth”—identified as an operational and testing platform—“the Navy is redirecting investments toward modernizing the remaining LCS inventory with enhanced capabilities.” From the beginning of their service with the Navy, the ships of the LCS Program exhibited technical and operational deficiencies and limitations, a situation that led to the early retirement of several units due to their operational unsustainability and maintenance costs.
