WASHINGTON (NNS) -- Names of Sailors selected to advance to chief petty officer by the fiscal year 2016 E-7 selection board are scheduled to be posted to commands' BUPERS Online (BOL) accounts Wednesday, Aug. 5, with public release via NAVADMIN Thursday, Aug. 6 at 11:00 a.m. eastern time.Approximately 4,100 quotas were announced in June with an overall advancement opportunity of 23.64 percent for this cycle, just a .45 point drop from last cycle and above the 10-year average of 21.94 percent.The selection board is not required to fill all quotas; only the best and most fully qualified candidates are selected for advancement to chief. Because the Navy advances to vacancies, opportunity varies by rating, though advancement planners work to smooth overall opportunity across cycles.

Glad to see it was in the window I was expecting, also glad I get one more weekend in the clear before I could possibly be sucked into all the fun and games. Now that we know the date, we should all be busy with preparing ourselves for the results, which ever way they go.

Tony, I didn't mean that I called the actual release date just stating that I was guessing the 4th for release. With it being actually being on the 5th I got close. Either way only 7 more days & a wake-up to go!

Well looks like the FMC knew what she was talking about first week of August she called it.

Personal anecdote: November 2006 the same day my daughter was born I found out I made third, December 2008 a week after my son was born I found d out I made second. My birthday is early August, so fingers crossed for the greatest birthday present ever. Lol.
