USS Scranton (SSN 756) Commanding Officer Relieved

Recommended Posts

The commanding officer of USS Scranton (SSN 756), Cmdr. Seth Rumler, was relieved of command July 6 by Rear Adm. Rick Seif, Commander, Submarine Group 7, due to loss of confidence in his ability to command.

Cmdr. Michael McGuire, deputy commodore of Commander, Submarine Squadron 15, has assumed duties as interim commanding officer.

Navy commanding officers are held to high standards of personal and professional conduct. They are expected to uphold the highest standards of responsibility, reliability and leadership, and the Navy holds them accountable when they fall short of those standards.
