To those who didn't make it, I know the sting and how bad it feels when you get an N.  and it does suck but keep going and show your junior sailors that you are still there for them. I know you hear this all the time and maybe tired of hearing it but it's all the truth. Congrats to all those that made it!!

East Coast NSW - I made it!!!  After the skipper notified me, he informed me my brother was on the phone call too.  He is an Active Duty Chief/LDO selectee.  I was shocked!  My brother said congrats, and I asked how he pulled that off.  The skipper said, "You will soon learn the power of the Chief Mess."  Then they hung up.   Couldn't have been a better notification.

Well.... good morning and good afternoon to others.... just got the word, I did not get the coveted "S", this was my last shot and of course it's disappointing it would have been nice to finish my career with anchors but I refuse to discount the fact that I am finishing the race strong with my head held high as a SOLID FCPO.  I'll be retiring next April and I just want to congratulate all that did get selected this year, continue to shine and bring up the junior troops to take your job, to make our Navy even stronger then it is now!  For those that didn't make it this time around and have more time to get advanced in the future, work hard, seek out those khaki's that are dying to help you succeed and then..... you'll be there!  Good luck all and God Speed!  :)

You are in a completely different summary group than the Chiefs, first of all. They should limit the Chief's ability to get an EP based on the qualification only they are allowed to achieve. Instead, they "punish" (for lack of a better word) everyone because of some misguided philosophy that bears no common-sense. Sorry you had to endure that.

Just to make sure there is no confusion. That was not a decision made at their level. And, they were/ are required to have that qualification by instruction.

No selection here but I will continue to assist young sailors with their careers. I will add FCPOA VP, Color Guard, and EAWS Coordinator to my next eval. Any LS that has sat a board I would love for you to have a look at my record.

Sorry to hear. Take the limiter off the engine and go full out. You have one more chance and that is all you need!

I don't know what to say. That is about as graceful an end to a chapter as I have seen. And, that is what it is. Now you can start a new one and take what you have learned with you into it. You are a roll model for others to follow. Even though you are retiring you can still help shape the Navy's future just being here with advice and guidance. I know people that have been retired for years that I still call for help. Good luck and God Speed to you as well.

I know it still hurts, but glad to hear you kept pushing and made yourself better for next year. Great job!
