CAPITOL HILL – A competition for material between submarine construction and submarine maintenance is contributing to slowdowns in both, the Navy’s acquisition chief told USNI News today.
The Navy has more submarine maintenance to conduct than its four public shipyards can accommodate. As a result, the service has been shifting maintenance availabilities of its older Los Angeles-class attack boats to General Dynamics Electric Boat and Huntington Ingalls Industries’ Newport News Shipbuilding.

Trump pushed for a grandiose military parade through the streets of D.C. during his first term but was forced to back down over the costs, but a D.C. source with knowledge of the plan said commandeered June 14, the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army and his own 79th birthday for a four-mile parade, reported the Washington City Paper.

The escalation comes amid the downing of at least three U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drones by Houthi forces in recent weeks. These high-value unmanned aircraft, each costing around US$30 million, were conducting surveillance over Yemeni airspace when they were hit

Regardless, make no mistake that a U.S. military buildup now underway in the Middle East is tangible and fitting to what we would see in a contingency situation like this.
In my line of work, I get asked a lot of questions. Sometimes they are on pretty heavy topics and other times they are on things that are downright bizarre. More often than not, they are driven by the news cycle. Over the last week, the one question I am suddenly getting all the time is if the United States is really preparing to go to war with Iran, and if so, why now?

Military families who are deployed far from their homes will see their process for voting become more complex, risking their possible disenfranchisement, with President Donald Trump’s efforts to make certain election policies more stringent.

Talk about overkill. A waste of resources and money. We have the Coast Guard and Border Patrol already. How about giving our Sailors a break and allowing for some maintenance on Navy warships?
- The Trump administration is using US troops and military assets in its costly immigration crackdown.
- Navy warships, military aircraft, and combat vehicles have been deployed to the US-Mexico border.
- The Pentagon has spent $376 million on militarizing the southern US border since January 20.

FORT MEADE, Md. – The commanding officer of Navy Information Operations Command (NIOC) Colorado was relieved April 3 due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command.
Capt. Chelsey Zwicker, commodore of Naval Information Operations Command Pacific, relieved Cmdr. Christopher Johnson of his duties as NIOC Colorado’s commanding officer. NIOC Colorado is a subordinate command of Naval Information Operations Command Pacific, which is headquartered at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii.
The Navy maintains the highest standards for commanding officers and holds them accountable when those standards are not met.
Cmdr. Mark Tuner, the Naval Information Forces Liaison Officer to U.S. Fleet Cyber Command, will temporarily serve as NIOC Colorado’s commanding officer until a permanent replacement is designated.
Johnson assumed command of NIOC Colorado in May 2023. He has been temporarily reassigned to U.S. Fleet Cyber Command.
U.S. Fleet Cyber Command plans, coordinates, and conducts a full spectrum of cyberspace operational activities required to ensure freedom of action across all Navy warfighting domains in, through and from cyberspace, while denying adversaries the same capability.

Trump has consistently disrespected the military, insulting those who have chosen to serve and showing little consideration for their safety and sacrifices. He proved himself unfit to be Commander in Chief while previously in office, and he has clearly learned nothing from the experience.
Trump has not only continued to verbally insult active duty military, prisoners of war, and fallen service members; as President, he consistently failed to protect them and laughed off their injuries and deaths.

There was bipartisan criticism Friday of the Trump administration's decision to fire Gen. Timothy Haugh as head of U.S. Cyber Command and the NSA.

Hedgehog dismissed Chatfield, former president of the Naval War College and a Navy pilot, “due to a loss of confidence in her ability to lead," Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said in a statement Tuesday. "The Defense Department is grateful for her many years of military service.”
Imagine that... If Hedgehog can say that she was dismissed “due to a loss of confidence in her ability to lead," where does that put him?
