  3. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the Navy is a set of policies and programs that promote the fair treatment of all people. DEI aims to create a culture of inclusion where everyone feels welcome and can perform to their full potential.

Why is DEI important in the Navy?

DEI can help the Navy achieve its mission by harnessing the creative powers of a diverse team. DEI can help the Navy sustain a sharp team that embraces people achieving their highest potential.

A non-inclusive environment, where some are intentionally excluded, can negatively impact the mission of the U.S. Navy.

  5. The Threat from Within – The Trump Administration

Our country is under threat from within. There is no doubt that the current administration, led by Trump, is using deceit and leadership positions to circumvent the constitution. What makes matters worse are the people who follow and join in this deception that is damaging to our Constitutional Republic. Separately, the current administration is causing economic chaos within our country and to our allies alike. It has only started but the telling signs are in the stocks and bonds that have moved in an erratic fashion unlike anything we have ever seen happen. Keep an eye on your 401K if you have one.

Our country was built on the foundation of liberty, equality, justice, popular sovereignty, and rule of law. It is enshrined in documents such as the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence which emphasize that all individuals have rights that should be protected equally.

This forum includes articles on topics/ incidents that go against the constitution, the Declaration of Independence and current laws that were put in place by “We the People,” that protect us from tyranny and illegal or immoral acts that are occurring on almost a weekly basis. Topics in this area may not be strictly military but cover our rights and freedom that many of us swore to uphold.

    • Messages relayed by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over a Signal chat regarding the U.S. plans to bomb Houthi targets in Yemen came from an email labeled “SECRET/NOFORN,” according to the Pentagon’s independent watchdog.
    • The report said Iranian forces dispatched the helicopter to confront a U.S. Navy destroyer identified as the USS Fitzgerald that approached the waters at around 10 a.m. local time.
    • The Pentagon’s inspector general has received evidence that the military plans shared from Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s Signal account to a group chat earlier this year were taken from a US Central Command document that was marked classified at the time, according to two people familiar with the ongoing review.
    • Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) James Honea will retire from the United States Navy on September 12, 2025, after 38 years of faithful service to our nation. “It has been a profound privilege and honor to serve as your MCPON,” said Honea. “I will carry with me the countless memories of meeting Sailors across the Fleet, hearing about your remarkable achievements, as well as the level of trust you placed in me to advocate for you and your families. During my tenure it has been my mission to remove barriers and improve the quality of life for you and your family.” MCPON Honea assumed the role as the 16th MCPON on September 8, 2022. Throughout his tenure, he championed efforts to make Sailors stronger, smarter, and better valued—both through direct engagement with Sailors and their families, and through strategic advocacy on Capitol Hill. His collaborative work with Congress and Department of Defense policy makers contributed to significant legislative achievements and quality of life impacts, including a historic 15 percent pay increase for junior enlisted ranks (E-1 to E-4), as well as improvements in unaccompanied housing, medical care, spouse employment, and childcare services. Within the Navy, MCPON Honea drove initiatives to enhance enlisted leadership development, naval education, and performance evaluations—highlighted by the recent update to the Chief Petty Officer evaluation system earlier this year. “Since 1775, the United States Navy has been operating forward to defend our nation and defeat those who challenge our freedom. Every one of you embody the fighting spirit, honoring the legacy of those who came before you. As I embark on the next chapter of my life, I will forever cherish the impact you’ve had on me and look forward to crossing paths with you again in the Fleet.”
