    • Satellites Show US Warships Positioned for Possible Strikes in Venezuela
    • The planned attacks, first reported Thursday night by the Wall Street Journal, will seek to destroy military installations used by the drug-trafficking organization the U.S. says is headed by Venezuelan strongman Nicolás Maduro and run by top members of his regime.
    • Stephen Miller, Marco Rubio, Kristi Noem, and others have taken over homes that until recently housed senior officers.
    • THE EXPERIENCED HEAD OF A CRITICAL OFFICE that helps organize important technical research and disburse billions of dollars in funding for the U.S. Navy is being replaced by a 33-year-old former DOGE employee with no apparent naval experience. Rear Admiral Kurt Rothenhaus was recently removed from his post as chief of naval research, the top post at the Office of Naval Research (ONR), and replaced by Rachel Riley, a former partner at McKinsey & Company and Rhodes Scholar recipient who has been serving since January in a DOGE-related roles inside the Trump administration.
    • Hey all, I’m trying to get back in touch with an old friend and teammate, Petty Officer 1st Class Michael Salassa, who served with distinction during the conflicts between 2009 and 2014 (and in Libya) Michael was one of those rare people who combined professionalism, humor, sharp instincts, and genuine care for his team. Those of us who had the privilege to serve alongside him remember his quiet leadership, quick thinking under pressure, and the way he could find humor even in the toughest situations. He’s a bit of a ghost online and tends to delete his socials now and then, never really told us about life back home, so I figured I’d try my luck here. If anyone’s been in touch or knows how to reach him, please pass along that Tex and Sly are looking to reconnect and say hello. Michael — if you see this, brother, hope you’re doing well and staying safe. Miss the old days and would love to catch up. Fair winds and following seas
