From my own personal experience this really isn't a bad thing at all, hopefully the senior FCPO supported the Chief's decision.  Again personal experience speaking here; last year my CoC had me step down from LPO to pass to FCPO who was not as senior as myself, instead of getting upset I actually embraced the decision and saw it as an opportunity to lead and guide my peers from the side.  To this day the LPO still comes to me for advice, the relationship amongst the FCPOs (which is seven of us) within a division of 25 is very good.  Yes I am the most senior with almost ten years but we work together to get the job done to help our Sailors.  Besides as FCPOs we each bring something unique to the table.  Lastly as for evaluaiton purposes my evaluation will not take a hit, I found other things to supplement for LPO position.  There are always opportunities for us to lead sometimes we need to go out and find them whether it is coordinating a volunteer event, working party, or being a lead on a collateral, there are always opportunities its what we do with it in order stand out is whats important.

After giving up the LPO spot, if your prior year's eval reflected "LPO" on it, then the next years did not, I hope it was documented in the write-up that you took on other responsibilities rather than  LPO-- The board may look at your evals and ask, "why was he LPO last year, but not this year'? Though even then, giving up a top leadership spot for "other things" may be frowned up by the board. Truth is, LPO at sea carries a ton of weight. Sure, there are those who get promoted without out it, but having that extra ammo in your backpocket certainly helps you. LPO at sea is very demanding, and the board knows that. Either way, Good luck come Wednesday!

Do you remember if it was done during the 24hr Triad release or after the public release?

Tony, it was during the 24 hour Triad release.

I would prefer to have to the CO read the results over the 1MC or have the CMC or my Chief tell me I got selected than to find out over social media.

I'm not sure whose idea that was, but it made promotion so impersonal. I'd love to go back to the days of tacking on - the real tacking! Or at least let the LPO or Chief tell the sailor's first.

No, it won't be sent anywhere but a lot of people in the Navy visit this website so I think it will get some good exposure. I think I might do this each cycle with more polls. If anyone ever has thought, post or shoot me a PM.  BBb)

Hang in there passionateshorty123!

Someone may want to check their account and see which "friend" is using that account. Otherwise, that account is banned - have no choice.

Good morning I want to wish good luck and have a safe weekend. For those interested hopefully the career summary I gave Tony is a guideline you can use.

And I have it permanently located here, on left -> Chiefs Selection Board Preparation

Thanks very much BM1. BM3. BM2. BM1. I'm sure this is going to help people who keep asking how to do it.

i know this was talked about but can't remember what the answer is. If we were missing awards in our ompf but we submitted them to the board will they be updated into our ompf? If yes, how long will it take to reflect?

If I recall the Navadmin and Precept correctly, no, it doesn't get added to your OMPF. Talk to your admin department about getting it added. The award has to be added to NDAWS first, then submitted to pers to be added. I'm almost 100% positive. I'll look it up to verify for you tho.
