Good morning all, I know I haven't been on here but, I wanted to wish everyone the best of luck. Unfortunately, for me, I was not given the chance to compete this year since my HYT is august 31st. Good news is, I'm on terminal and working. Praying to see the "S" for my husband and the rest of you. Again, good luck!

Exciting news about the results coming next week!

 

What does everyone think of the new, more "transparent" style of releasing results?  Do you like that they specified an exact date and time that they would be released in advance?  Do you think it will help you relax more until then, or will you be even more anxious?

 

Personally, I like the announced release time and date a lot.  I was dreading having to wonder about result every day this week and potentially next week too, but as soon as I saw the date they are coming out it felt like a ton of weight had been lifted off my shoulders.  It also just makes sense; if NPC knows in advance when the results are going to be released, why not say so?  BZ to VADM Moran for the change in direction.

On the Selres side the biggest complaint by far is that when Triad gets access, they (CO,XO,CMC) do not notify anyone and simply consider it an FYI. It's disturbing when eligibles have to wait for the public Navadmin

you know i miss when i heard my name over the 1MC or a call telling me that I made it. Now I have to sit down with a CAPT saying i did not make it then roll into a CDB! I would rather be supprised IMO

Well with the Triad I think they could still do that, they'd have 24hrs. Also, each command sets their own policy which is usually no policy    but the better commands practice their good leadership of course.

my command mustered us all on the mess decks and the CO came out and read off the results.

Great post BTW!  I think doing it this way will make everyone a little less stressed and probabally a little more productive at work too.  I think they should do it this way for all paygrades, in my opinion.  This is my 4th time up and from what I've seen this time over the years is that most of us "board eligible's" would just be only focused on "when or are they every going to release the names" for about a week or so... So, i like it this way.

I don't know why they "recommended" you return from leave except some people just love controlling other people. They obviously knew when you were going to start leave because they approved it.
