Just finished editing the one I made last year. I like to be prepared, but it seems like such a punch to the gut when you don't get the answer you want.

 

I understand the gut punch. As the FCPON of the Navy I truly understand. I got frocked to E6 in December 2003. This is my tenth time taking the test, 6th time eligible. I really don't think I can take another N at this point in my career.

I just turned in my eval and it is horrible how I have to predict the future whether I receive the "S" or not since I just recently checked into my new command.  Well anyway good luck to all the SBE's on here and just remember that its not the end if you don't get selected. Its all about our sailors.  IYAOYAS

Same here for me as we have 313 FCPOs  but it was early May we had to submit ours for the year due to hull swap next month. Crazy times!

last years NavAdmin was 178. Next one up for this year is 177.

Here at my command they had us (SBE's) route special request chits to the SEA/CMC requesting our Phase II sponsors. They did this last year, and it doesn't seem like a big thing, but something about tracking down a Chief, asking for his endorsement, and submitting it only to not have it mean anything was a real shot to the gut. Sometimes, in my opinion, I think some people at the top blur the line between optimism and cruelty. Made it in 07, started taking tests in 09 (LDO) and it has always sucked seeing 'N'... but last year was the worst by far.

On the flip side to that though, the CPO mess here really makes an effort to incorporate prospective selectees. I have learned more and grown wayyyy more here than at any other place in my career.

Advice?? Find a good hiding place on the ship LMAO. Ok totally joking don't do that lol. I wasn't on deployment when I made it. But I do know a couple Chiefs who was. I will reach out to them and get back with you.

Just think, when you do make it you will be getting paid earlier than most, if not first. Still waiting for that dang sheet to say advanced instead of selectee.

Better to be the last one paid last year than the first this year...
