I have been on here throughout the past few years and I see alot of very well thought out career advise from most. Let me say that we appreciate the advise. This is my 4th time up and feel its my best chance. Hopefully I get the S but if not I will continue doing what I do and keep moving on and taking care of my guys. I want to make chief but if I dont I will not view my time in as any sort of failure because I know what I have done and I know in my time in I have trained my replacements to do and be better than me. Good luck everyone and I hope the results do come out this week.

To add, I have also never been SOQ or SOY. Please feel free to message me with questions you may have regarding my career path. I am always willing to help and mentor.

Chief, what was your quota percentage when you made it? Just trying to get some insight, numbers wise for my own curiosity.....

I'm TAD for over 2 weeks in Alaska. Though I am with one of my Chiefs. Anytime I see him on the phone these next few weeks my heart will probably be racing!! Good luck to everyone else!

I'm hoping this week is the week for you guys, if I had to guess, I'd say a Thurs/Fri release.  The wait is the worst part.  Good Luck to all, I'm excited for you.

I'm speechless, honestly at a loss for words....Chiefs=Briefs....ROFL

Officer = tightie whities (too close for long comfort - nicest way I could put it)

First post. Ever. Supportive wife hoping to greet the husband at the pier with a "congratulations and a kiss" vs 'just' a kiss. Although, I know he'll be more than happy with the latter. Good luck to all those rushing to wait!

My first post ever as well! Thank you for admitting me. I trolled the last 2 years my son went through this but I always missed the window of when it was open for making new accounts over here. This is his 3rd year hoping to see the "S". I think the heavens are aligning this year because I was able to make an account before the window closed! It must be a good sign! lol!

Good luck to all who are waiting for the "S". I hope all of you get good news next week, as well as my son. All of you work so hard and you should be very  proud of yourselves, no matter the results. Y'all are to top, cream of the crop, of America. Be proud and hold your head up no matter what. Very few can accomplish what y'all accomplish every single day of your lives! We're proud of each of you!

Well this week is not going to get here fast enought o figure this out so lets gain some education. I have an Anchor that was given to me some years ago by a fellow first that was selected for chief. I still have it and I still carry it with me. Would anyone by chance know the history behind this?

It is called One Gold Anchor. I can't remember all of the words that go along with it but it basically boils down to them seeing promise in you and you have to earn the other anchor as it should be. The entire quote is on the net if search for "one gold anchor". my dad did this for me and I have it on desk and look at it every day. If lucky enough to get the S, this one anchor will be the one he pins on me.

I definitely can appreciate the encouragement. With all do respect being a patriot is great and is the reason I joined the Navy, but in these highly competitive rates, guys / girls need to write their EVALs to the precepts. SSP - in a competitive rate means SOY, EP w/ a breakout, and leadership. I think the idea of not performing to that level and not completing things like JPME, PPME, etc. is setting a bad example. Leaders should continually strive to better themselves and others will follow. "Attitude reflects leadership."

I love the way a mom can always part the thunder clouds and sprinkle a little sunshine with a few words of encouragement. Thanks Mom!

Wow, 100 pages before results hit the streets. I hope all of the other hopefuls starting to visit will make accounts and contribute to the discussion... and I hope everyone who is participating now will stick around after results are released. There is a wealth of knowledge here and you better believe you can reach a massive audience here...

So I agree that leadership should set examples but at the same time how can you say the SOY and an EP with a breakout is the measuring bar? There are many, many chiefs that never got either of those. Are you saying they didnt set a good example? Different rates have different requirements for putting on anchors and each case is different. Good luck to you but imo you are showing a me first attitude that will not carry over in the chiefs mess.
