I got what you were trying to say btw Sailor of the Navy, and even though it wasn't directed at me I appreciate the idea.

Maaaaaaannnnnnn it is TENSE in here! I have lurked for years and never seen any one intentionally judge or provoke without Tony promptly exploding it to smitherines... I think we need a little of that holding hands and campfire songs talked about a few pages ago.

ill bring the beer!

Hello everyone. I've been away on the islands for awhile, but due to my wife being diagnosed with curable cancer (Hodgkin lymphoma) I just HUMS relocated back to Charleston where my family stayed when I went to Hawaii where I expected to retire on sea duty if I didn't make Chief this year or next.

Please help me catch up quickly.

So I've heard that the board has completed, so we are in the 2 week waiting window now till congress and NPC release the results. It's this accurate?

18.6 years in, 11 years board eligible, 526 days till retirement unless I am one of the fortunate few to be selected.

So I just got a call from the Chief in charge of the CPO365 and he said that all board eligible 1st classes have to meet on Thurs the 30th, 1000 at our HQ building with the CMDMC... interesting...

So, I know a guy who's besties with a guy who checked a certain outlook calendar, which had the 4th highlited as the start of Phase II.

I asked him if he could have his buddy's brother's flag writer girlfriend check the CNP's calendar...then the line went dead.

I like it because it supports my previous prediction, and because I like superfluous separations between my sources lol

To be average is expected. To perform well is commendable. But, to excel is to be an Old Buzzard

I have 2 successful recruiting tours under my belt and I can offer you some advice and assistance.  The first thing is that you have no control over the recruiting numbers that are assigned to your district or your station.  I am not sure how long you have been on recruiting duty but, the number are big when it comes to recruiting and breaking out amongst your peers.  One problem I see is that you are in a 1 man station which can hurt you.  Let me know if you have any questions.....

I disagree.  One man station can recruit, manage a DEP pool, spend more time one on one with Future Sailors which equals low attrition, has a market all to themselves and can qualify as LPO in the first year which is looked at like LPO at sea on shore duty.  Remote stations rarely have interference from the upper chain unless things are going straight south, which is also a plus.  The negatives... well you have to travel a lot to cover your area and compete with other services by yourself.  Being so far removed from the command can hurt you during eval boards so it is important to have a solid brag sheet to submit with your eval.  I see this remote Alaska duty as a HUGE opportunity to break out.
