I will keep everyone up to date about the results. My CMC said he was going to call because the Mess wanted to have BBQ with us before results and he wants it before the results are released. Good luck to everyone and hope that whether or not you make it, remember we have best job in the world!

That is very nice of your CMC & their Chief's Mess to call and find out when the results will be released, do you know what they are going to BBQ? And is it smoked, gas or charcoal?

This is my first post. I've been reading these posts in this forum for a while now. I wish everyone luck in here. As the days wind down the stress builds. Just remember, no matter what happens, our sailors are what mean the most.

The BBQ was supposed to be the week of the 31st, but I think my CMC believes the results will be released during that time so he wants to have BBQ this week. Like I said I will give you guys the thumbs up when I find out about this BBQ;.

You know, it's nice to see people on here with such good attitudes! I mean gals and guys are on her not fretting the results. Don't get me wrong, they wouldn't be on here if they didn't care, but it is nice to see people focusing on developing and mentoring their Sailors more than making Chief. This is why this Navy is the worlds finest...

If it ain't smoke, it ain't BBQ!!!

I see what you are saying, but have you ever seen one of these for CPO results? I know last year, as soon as word hit the street, my CO was on the phone with the selects... Wonder how he knew...

I dunno, not knowing kinda blows....

I would much rather they release the results and have to deal with the conseqences, either a longer "season" or keep work on things for next eval & start studying for next test, than to sit around not knowing the results.

Yes, smoked is the way to go.

Can't remember cuz' that's when it gets busy but in the last SelRes results thread someone posted that a notification was given.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I am TAD with my CMC and a couple chiefs in the Middle East and he told me that the triad is expecting the results on the 1st (which would be the 31st for stateside). Hopefully that will be the case! Good luck to all!

So potentially another 11 days huh?

loving all this speculation, rumor mill definitely keeps it interesting!  It's certainly driving me nuts, I'm currently TEMDU waiting for overseas transfer....nothing to do but lurk and post lol

I enjoy the speculation! For me personally, I am just ready whichever way it goes! If i do not make it ill be upset for a day then it will be back to work finishing up my package for LDO! (gotta keep them options open)

I would be ok if they would just tell us when they are going to be released, if they are not going to just release them outright.

Personally I can't stand the waiting game...  One of the Chiefs in my office was a recorder, and she's back today.  I know she can't tell me whether I made it or not, but knowing that she knows and can't say anything is driving me crazy.  I just want to know so I can either buy black pants or khaki ones.  These results are holding up some uniform shopping lol

I too am eagerly awaiting the results this year. Been up a few times and did not think I would make it, but this year feels very different. Looking forward to getting the word one way or another.
That being said, however, I encourage everyone to prepare today as if they could get the call next week. When I say prepare, I mean things like getting your personal affairs in order for the next 6-7 weeks. Things as simple as making sure the bills get paid, lawns mowed, etc. Remember, an ounce of preparation can save ten pounds of pain, especially at a time when hopefully some of us will have bigger fish to fry. I also encourage you to do as we are doing at my command and get together with your fellow board eligibles and discuss the upcoming season, maybe share some ideas and get to know each other early on. Even a little bit of preparation can make a world of difference.

I have been on this forum for the past several years lurking for information regarding results for my husband.. I am so thankful it exists... I have to say this time means so much more to us than rank this time.. we were told they approved his 2 year higher tenure waiver (to go to 22 years as a 1st class) and that we all were all (my 2 teenagers and myself) going to Cuba with him and for his family to get the overseas screenings done.. we did 8 appointments for medical and dental for my kids and myself.. 3 vet appointments for our pups.. sold our diesel truck and new 29ft camper we bought for retirement and then they said 'oops, sorry.. you were only approved for a 1 year waiver, your orders are unaccompanied for 18 months, you don't have enough time left in the Navy to take your family with you... unless you get chief'  If he gets chief, he can reenlist and extend his orders so we can go with him.  We have been on edge since March.  Prayers for all of you up for it.  I know we are not the only family with a lot on the line... <_<  I have a move set up for the end of next month for us to move back to our house we own in GA if he doesn't pick up, it's in pencil on my calendar.. praying I can erase it due to postive results.  This is #4 for him making board..

Here I was thinking how rough I was going to have it because my wife is due Wednesday with our 2nd and I thought my life was hectic. I take it all back and am praying for an "S" for you all and thank you for standing by his side through all of that. :o

Thank you so much fpr the prayers and congrats on the new little one... :)

As I am sure you already know, if you do decide to buy your khakis ahead of time I wouldn't tell anyone...especially the Mess

  oh no, no, no....  I'm not buying anything until those results are out.  I'm not going to be "That Guy" that buys khakis and stuff and then come to find out I don't pick up FCC.  That and the Mess would have a field day with me if I bought CPO uniform items prior to getting the S.

+1 for scuttlebutt but a retired Chief working at my command said a MCPO friend of his whom sat the board said 30th release is likely.

We just found out we have command quarters on the 30th uh oh !

Question for everyone.  Depending on how the selection board goes, i'm wanting to apply for a detailing position.  Does anyone know how the process works...i.e. how long the screening takes, when I would be notified?  Thanks in advance and good luck to all.
