As I am sure you already know, if you do decide to buy your khakis ahead of time I wouldn't tell anyone...especially the Mess

Doesn't everyone on here have a set of wash khakis hanging in the closet?

C'mon guys, own up to it. Hehe.

Knot to do but wait for the bell...erm, results...

While giving some warfare training today, I was asked "why is the USS Constitution classified as a Frigate when she had more than 44 guns?"

It took me a few seconds to work out an explanation. Anyone care to take a stab at explaining this? If anything else, we'll all learn some history while waiting.

What about if you were given a set of anchors to be pinned in by a Chief when they were commissioned?

Also, I heard from a friend that they have CPO Selectee gear in the NEX. What milestone are we awaiting now? The CNP call out?

Ok thanks, but what are they BBQing? And it is Smoked, gas or charcoal? I love BBQs, my mouth is watering, can you ask your CMC, just let him know everyone is curious?

Sorry no smoke, but it will be charcoal. Also, the information that you actually wanted, the BBQ is this Saturday. He told us that the results will be out sometime next week. I will keep you up to date if more comes down.

Use them.

I have a set in a mahogany box from my sea-dad. I learned many things from that man. He'll be present at my pinning.

Man I kinda hope the results don't come out next week. If they do and my name is on the list (crossing fingers!), you know they will keep the selectees busy. I just bought my tickets to comicon for 31jul & 1Aug and spent good money on my costume. But if they do come out and I'm not on the list, guess I can use the after parties to cheer me up!

Charcoal, great choice! But I was curious what they were going to cook. Are they going to grill something like Grilled Skirt Steaks With Two Chimichurris, or Grilled Tenderloin Of Beef With Spicy Fresh Herb Vinaigrette or Grilled Leg Of Lamb With Pearl Onion And Plum Chutney? Glad it's charcoal, Ordy prefers smoked though.

I didn't spend money on a costume, but I ate the price of a 3 day pass for emerald city comicon because I volunteered to go TAD to a command on deployment.  I believe we were pulling into Dubai when I should have been in my hotel down in Seattle.  As a consolation prize I finally got my shellback after 16 years in.  Pulled into San Diego the day after I went over 17.  My eval next year will show the TAD time, and maybe give me a nudge up on the elusive score sheet.  Fun times deploying while on shore duty.  Of course my command didn't start and stop my sea time until I got back from deployment so I don't think my optempo got updated in time for this board.

Anything before the 1st doesn't work for me. Got Kid Rock tickets on August 1st in Noblesville.

Here is a little bit of information that I can share with all board eligibles. The year that I made it the results came out in the middle of the week and we were given the first weekend to get all of our affairs in order before everything started. Just a little info for everyone.

That's good info! If that's the standard, then I'll be good with results coming next week ?

I can confirm that they do have CPO selectee gear in the NEX as I saw some of it this weekend!!!!!!!!!!  I know this next week and a half will be tough but, the best advice I can give is be patient and try to stay busy to keep your mind occupied and off of the results.

Which NEX?

Norfolk NEX

Thanks, then we should expect to see the gear in next weeks NEX ads

I just noticed how last year's board forum went all the way to 242 pages before closing out. We are at 70 with 10-16 -ish days left. Think we will pass that amount? :) :)

I don't think so, we'd have to average 10 to 17 pages per day. The good news is that since about Friday, we've had a larger amount of visits and people joining up than usual. Even more than last year even though it is oddly later. I expect it to continue too since that's how it usually works. I just don't know why it's more than usual.  :D

Interesting... All these commands holding quarters and musters on the 30th ... Seems triads may know something we don't!

And Tony, I prefer a lightly Seared Filet Mignot with a Bleu de Gex crumble finished in a skillet indirect with a topping of Rosemary tomatoe port wine reduction, peach or pear smoke preferred.
