Okinawa-based US soldier, sailor accused in separate alcohol-fueled crashes

CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa – Two U.S. service members could face charges in recent incidents of alleged drunken driving, one involving injuries, according to Japanese police.

On Thursday, police in Uruma city arrested a sailor assigned to White Beach Naval Facility for allegedly driving in the wrong lane and colliding head-on with another vehicle, a police spokesman told Stars and Stripes by phone Tuesday.
