Unvaccinated Oklahoma Air National Guard members will not be allowed to participate in drills

OKLAHOMA CITY (Tribune News Service) — The adjutant general for the Oklahoma National Guard said Thursday that unvaccinated airmen may not participate in drills after Jan. 1, 2022.

In an emailed statement, Adjutant Gen. Thomas Mancino informed members of the Oklahoma Air National Guard that due to the state's loss in court on Tuesday, members must be vaccinated or they cannot participate in the National Guard.

The message is an about-face from Wednesday, when a spokesperson for the Guard said unvaccinated airmen would not face repercussions.

      Arrest made in crash that killed Navy Corpsman Reservist, injured her family

      ORT WORTH, Texas — An arrest has been made in the wrong-way crash that killed 38-year-old Brytni Elliott and injured members of her family in September. On Sept. 14, less than five minutes from their home on Boat Club Road, Fort Worth police said a wrong-way driver slammed into the Elliott family’s vehicle. Inside were Brytni, her husband, 41-year-old Spencer Elliott — who remains hospitalized with multiple injuries — and their 12-year-old daughter, Allie, who suffered a broken arm. Brytni was pronounced dead at the scene.
