RMKS/1. It is with great pleasure that I announce the three finalists for the 2020 Navy Reserve Sailor of
the Year. A screening board was conducted on 14 April 2020, where a panel of Senior Chiefs and Master
Chiefs reviewed 17 outstanding nomination packages. Competition was extremely close and all
nominees should be proud of their superb records.
2. Congratulations to the following three finalists:
- AWR1(NAC/AW) Calder Epes, Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron FOUR ONE Squadron Augment Unit,
RCC San Diego (CNRFC)
- AWF1(NAC/AW) Kody Sims, Fleet Logistics Support Wing FIVE FOUR, (CNAFR)
- HM1 (FMF/PJ) Ronnie Heen, Force Headquarters Group, (MARFORRESFOR)
3. Finalists will compete for Reserve Sailor of the Year in an interview board conducted from 3 through
7 May 2021.
