Codebreaker Margaret Kelly who passed away on Sunday in Wales at the age of 94. As a member of the Women’s Royal Naval Service (Wrens), she was assigned to Bletchley Park where she operated the Colossus computer.

The Colossus was designed to crack messages intercepted from the German Lorenz machine which was used by Hitler to communicate with his generals. Her efforts helped gather important intelligence prior to D-Day including the fact that Hitler was convinced that the real invasion would be at Calais rather than Normandy.
