NATURALIZATION.  REF C IS NAVADMIN 099/18, CERTIFICATION OF HONORABLE SERVICE 
FOR PURPOSES OF NATURALIZATION APPLICATIONS.// 
 
RMKS/1.  This NAVADMIN announces the requirement for certifying officials to 
process and return United States Citizenship and Immigration Services Form N-
426, *Request for Certification of Military Service*, to qualified applicants 
for naturalization within 30 days of receipt, as directed in reference (a). 
 
2.  As directed in reference (b), specific requirements for Service Members 
in the Active Component and Service Members in the Selected Reserve of the 
Ready Reserve must be met before certification of honorable service for 
purposes of supporting the Service Members naturalization 
application.  Details of reference (b) are located at 
https://www.jag.navy.mil/organization/code_16_immigration_info.htm.
 
3.  As directed in reference (c), for Active and Reserve Component members 
whose date of enlistment or accession is prior to 13 October 2017, the 
minimum length of service is 45 days, inclusive of basic military 
training.  For Service Members in the Active Component and the Selected 
Reserve of the Ready Reserve whose date of enlistment or accession is on or 
after 13 October 2017, or for those Service Members who have served in an 
Active Duty status in a hazardous duty area, refer to reference (b) to 
determine minimum length of service required.
