SUBJ/FY-19 RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND CHIEF PETTY OFFICER SELECTEE BACK TO BOOT 
CAMP HERITAGE LEGACY TRAINING//

RMKS/1.  This NAVADMIN announces the 2018 Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Back to 
Boot Camp Heritage Legacy training.  Recruit Training Command (RTC) located 
in Great Lakes, IL will host FY-19 CPO selectees from 26 to 31 August 2018.

2.  CPO selectees and their sponsors from around the Fleet will be hosted at 
RTC and will experience leadership and heritage training that is central to 
the foundation of training provided to the Fleet from RTC and essential to 
understanding the Chief Petty Officers Creed outlined in *Laying the Keel* 
1.0.  The events will culminate with CPO selectees participating in the RTC 
Capstone Event, Battle Stations-21, and a 12-hour all-inclusive training 
scenario.  Upon completion of Battle Stations-21, CPO selectees will 
participate in Chicago CPO Pride day.  To conclude Back to Boot Camp, 
selectees will attend a recruit graduation ceremony.

3.  Only 176 CPO selectees (max 88 males/88 females) and 15 chief mentors are 
authorized.  All nominations must come directly from the unit command master 
chief.  Reserve CPO selectee and Active CPO selectee nominations are due to 
the point of contact 1 week following the release of the respective selection 
board results. All personnel selected for participation will be notified by 
13 August 2018.

4.  CPO selectees and mentor chiefs will not be authorized visitors at RTC.  
Additionally, CPO selectees and mentor chiefs will not be permitted to depart 
RTC during the heritage legacy training with the exception of scheduled off-
site events.  Commands must ensure that all participants are fit for full 
duty and in strict compliance with uniform appearance and sea bag 
requirements.

5.  Quotas, cost, schedule of events, sea bag requirements, and detailed 
arrangements will be provided upon billet confirmation.
