Ive been in for 16 years. 5th time taking the test on time and 5th time making board. I have a theory of the 5 Fs( first, fifth and final).

I'm over 19 years in the Navy, 7th board, on 8 times eligible, and 6 times taking the test.  Have been a first for 10 years and 30 days.

Did anyone figure out/make a good guess as to what the disappearing pre 2015 profile sheets shenanigans earlier today were all about?

Yes, I posted my thoughts on that as I have every year. I know there are some doubters out there but those are the ones that believe a fairy flies in, delivers the messages and updates the database through the wonderful world of Disney without anyone seeing anything.

synopsis: the databases (this forum is database driven too) has to be purged, then updated. It has to go on a holding pattern of which I do not know about. The Navy has more manual parts to it I believe. That's what I look for. At the beginning, about 100% people were like "no way." Now, it's only the noobies - who should learn how to respect their elders. :D

To make it short and sweet things most of us already know. And he could only say so much without breaking the rules.

CPO365- more points than we think and it shouldn't be "Active member". SEJPME/ PPME.FCPOA/POA-holds more weight than we think.Same with MOVSM.

It was a detractor when a First eval has only his/her accomplishments, and not their Junior Sailors accomplishments .

Another detractor was not having OMPF updated. Someone OMPF not being updated since 2008 and not sending in a LTB. How can they know about any new quals?

Careery Summary Letter-ok but only 1 page snap shot of last 5 years.

Don't send in College transcript in LTB should send Diploma or have transcript loaded in OMPF.

Being an instructor at a command and taking 2-2 1/2 years to get MTS.

If someone fails a PRT within the 5 years, it's what you do after it. CFL/ACFL, leading CPO365 PT Lead or leading PT.

I hope getting my MTS late while instructing didn't hurt me. I got mine around the 2 year mark when I was an instructor. I was too busy having fun teaching, but I got my MTS. That was 3 years ago. Hmmm...

The real question is who controls the database? SPAWAR,  NPC,  or other?  If it's spawar after dealing with them on my commands enterprise site yikes.

Thanks @Tony

I've told this story but here it is for the newbies.

Before the internet grabbed hold, message traffic was king. And some who handled that traffic would visit this site (NavyAdvancement.com is over 18 years old.) One of them went by the username "Career Counselor."

However they do it, he would know exactly 24 hours ahead that the results were out for the E-4 - E-6. He would come on and post, saying the results would be out in 24 hours. At the beginning, people would miss his post because they were yaking a million miles a minute. I caught the first time he posted and every time afterwords. He would only post once. After awhile, I'd kind of hint "hey somethings up" so people would stop yaking. Then people started catching and then eventually waiting for him.

And that's when it got funny. He would only come on to post that the results were coming. He would forget his password, or his account might be purged or something and he'd come back and say "Tony, I can't remember my account, can you get me in?" or the "I don't have an account can you get me in?" So I would set him up and he would post "expect the results in 24 hours" and log out and leave. As suddenly as it started, it stopped.

Never even got to say hello to that guy - nothing.

I was on a sabbatical during today's discussions.  Sorry @Tony I should have realized I needed to read the forum guidelines, lesson learned. In any case, I travel at 0240L I hope this is all the Senior Firsts time, nothing against first timers. But you haven't suffered enough yet lol. I don't know if carrier got any stronger in Indiana but not likely.  I'll be on while in airport and Chicago good luck!

Sometimes it feels like it's a roll of the dice. I just listed off a bunch of the qual acronyms and my sailor said he either had it or it was a collateral and he had different collaterals, etc. my poor brain is nothing more than a computer constantly trying to analyze how to better support and lend assistance and guidance, but the more I list off and the more he says he has, the more questions I seem to have. This is his 4th time before the board I believe.... at least he took his package to a MC last year after results and asked them to look at it and give him honest feedback.... Fixed what was found and the rest is up to fate I suppose.

Honestly, I think someone mentioned it earlier on here each year the board is a different entity. All he or anyone of us can really do is ensure we don't have errors.  The rest is in davey jones hands.

I know this has been touched on before.  However my personal feeling is if I don't make it I'd rather not get a phone call, or pulled into a office.  If my name isn't on the list then just go celebrate with those who got the S.  I'll be fine, have been the past 6 N's I received.  I know some say they like to know for sure, but me personally I'd rather my COC not have to worry about how I'll react if I get the N.

I like to be notified just because a lot of commands seem to forget about those that don't get selected until it comes around this time of year again and we are awaiting results. I've personally been in those types of commands. Just tell me so I can either somewhat prepare for the season or start getting ready for the test again.

I'm just going by how I personally feel about it.  I've been in commands where if felt like my COC didn't even know I made board.  I'd rather they focus on starting the season for those who got the S.  On the day of the results I know I didn't make it if I haven't gotten a call, or am getting "messed" with by the Chiefs and above.  The command I'm in now feels like one of the best mess's I've had the privilege of working for.  I'd rather they wait a few days before saying something.  Like I said this is just how I personally feel.  I mean when I came back from Afghanistan I asked my command not to do a welcome home deal for me.  I just wanted to show up, grab my bags, and get to my hotel.  I just don't like people making a fuss over me.

@Tony, you mean you couldn't see "Career Counselor"'s credentials? We need to find them, snuggle them close, and then ask them to come home

Thank you everyone for the support. I talked to the COC and they are supporting my trip CONUS. I even talked to my inspectors and they were willing to delay looking at my programs until I get back. Hopefully I pick up but results will most likely be when I'm on ELV so I hope they can get in touch with me.
