Thanks, I appreciate that. We are doing RIMPAC. Chain is telling me not to think about it. We have about two weeks left for both (RIMPAC/CPO Results). Kind of difficult not to and I can only keep myself so busy.

we are all in the same boat as you are, trying to keep ourselves busy by doing everything possible. just gotta keep that positive attitude and stay strong. no lie since being back at work it has hit me more that the results are coming out soon. No one is really talking about it at work which is a good thing. but I catch myself wanting to talk about it cause I have learned a lot of stuff on here and I want to share it but don't want to annoy anyone here either lol. I have been thinking about that quote that was posted on here earlier. It is a great quote and have started using it in my daily thinking when I feel like my mind is drifting to the negative.

I have a question for the CPOs in tis forum.  My son graduates boot camp at the end of August.  If I am selected (which I hope happens), is it wrong for me to want to attend even though I may be in phase II.   I realize phase II is important in my development, but I don't want to feel guilty leaving my fellow selectees and also looking bad in front of the mess!

I also would go if it were me in that position. If someone else in my group of selects were in that position I would want them to go. Another way to look at it is it adds training value to those staying to deal with supporting a person being gone and still working through everything. And, rapidly getting the person that was gone back in with what has happened and what is going on. Plus there would be other selects there to work on networking.

Just something I would advise to keep in mind when doing this. And, something to keep in others mind. This is a great chance and time for you. But, don't let it be all about your time. That one day is your son's day. That day is about him. And, to all those graduating too.

I remember when people would drop the friend of a friend line said this. It's like saying bomb on a plane.  Sheer chaos ensued.

Okay I'll be the one. Lets see how many of the big warning signs I can hit. Please remember this is not real!:

I heard from a very reliable source that had a friend from back on USS Use-ta-fish that had a friend who's ex called him. They said they baby sit for this couple that does dog grooming. The person that walks the dog heard from another couple they dog walk for that the person that cuts their hair has another customer. This customer works on base in one of the machine shops. They said they had to go drop off some paperwork with their Div-O. And, the Div-O had a date circled on their calendar somewhere near the middle of the week. But, they were to far away to see the actual date.

There you go folks. You heard it here first!

I'm on PCS leave, so trying to keep busy while also looking at this forum! This forum really helps at least I know I'm not alone thinking about results! In the meantime I'm spending time with family and working out and running a lot. My cheif mentor told me to stay in shape because just in case I get the S i need to be not only mentally ready but physically ready.

Besides spending time with my family I decided to pick up a new hobby to take up some of the time. Whittling. Its great. I can focus on one thing, get my mind off of everything else. Put my energy into something constructive.

So, far I have learned to make two very nice things from big blocks of wood. 1. Small shavings which I have a ton of now. 2. Not so very nice or useful.... Toothpicks.

Probably one of the funniest things that I have heard all day. I honestly hated it back in the day when rumors like that would get passed around but I now understand that it helps pass time.

I am doing my best. Either way we have Sailors to take care of and I have a PCS transfer to start preparing for as I leave a month after the pinning regardless of the outcome. Glad to hear no one is talking about it at your work. I hear a lot about it from our Mess. lol. They don't call me select or anything like that, but giving me hints on how to best prepare myself now if i do get that "S". I enjoy reading the posts on here as well. Been learning a lot this past week I have been part of the forum.

So saw a few pages back someone talking about 3rd times the charm.  Makes me contemplate.  It's my 7th time up, but only 6th trip to the board.  So can I claim lucky 7?

I've always had a bit of a sarcastic nature, nothing disrespectful. So today I was informed I would be in the hurt locker if my name is on the list. I snorted. Too far?  I'll run any of my shipmates into the ground, there's a few of the younger guys got me for speed.  However, no one can beat me in distance running.

That's good but remember too that it's not gonna be all running. I'm pretty sure that they will have other stuff planned since you can run for a long distance. I know they did that to a buddy of mine since running didn't bother him at all

Oh I know it, it's like full metal jacket. No matter what I do I am in for it.

I think all of us will be, my chiefs aren't really saying much at all so I can just imagine what they are planning. Hopefully the quiet before my storm, which I'm totally ready for.

Just noticed an oversight on my part

my first eval at my squadron I got a P the average was 3.55 and I got a 3.43  my EO block was a 4

the next eval I got a MP the average was 3.66 and I got a 3.86 but my EO block was a 3. My question is this a distractor or does it throw mixed signals to the board?

The 1610.10D states:

"While not an all-inclusive definition, NAVPERSCOM will consider a report adverse if it contains......Command or Organizational Climate/Equal Opportunity trait graded below 3.0 for E1-E6 ......... has more than two traits graded as 2.0; or contains comments indicating serious weakness, incapacity, or lack of qualifications for promotion or assignment. A report shall not be considered adverse solely because it may make the member less competitive than another for promotion or assignment. "

A drop in that one category isn't an adverse eval. You're fine.

The focus is on BLK 43 and your ITA v. SGA and your ITA v. RSCA.

I've been watching from a distance this year due to being super busy and arranging my last transfer.  I wanted to add my thoughts on release... Looking at the trends this year versus last year, I'm thinking we will know next week.  No rumor, but looking at the other boards release dates this year vs last.

Personally, I'd like them to come out in the first week of August because I'll be on leave.  Last year the news came and I was in the company of all our leadership.  I was mortified and felt like a failure (in that moment) and it was the worst feeling ever to get the news while I was in front of everyone who "thought I was a shoe in."  I'm happy that they announce the schedule in advance now.

Good luck to all!

I think a lot of us would like them to be out next week just to get it all said and done but I think it's way to early to have the results come out. it also depends on if everything went smoothly with the board and if there are any discrepancies in the list.
