Reading that just hit me like a ton of bricks! Tomorrow our fates are sealed and like you said, the real count down begins!

That's the trick. Tomorrow is the out brief for the board members. Our fates are already sealed! Muhahahahaha! That is if they are actually ending the board on time of course. No worries though, no rush, no additional pressure. We are all just waiting on you.

Yes, there is a caching issue. What you can also do (I do too) is to refresh the page. Sometimes you have to do it twice. It will then show the proper state (logged in).

Your are welcome. Thank you for the tip.

My chiefs have repeatedly said to me "stop worrying about it man, just think about something else".

Hahaha! I was told the something similar when I was getting my wisdom teeth taken out and the painkiller started wearing off in the middle of it. Worked just about as well than too! ;)

Results aren't even out yet and I have had more Chiefs talk to me about the results and expectations these past two weeks than I have the other eight times I have been up for OSC. Would be a great way to end to a deployment to find out I was selected before going back to homeport.

Some things you just can't wing. Time and preparation along with careful thinking. You have to look at it like this. We are the only service that doesn't have leadership academies for each transition. For example, the Air Force has a NCO Academy and a Senior NCO Academy that are required before moving into those perspective ranks. We do have a Senior Enlisted Academy, but it is not for advancement purposes. With that, we use Phase II as our Senior Enlisted Advancement training/academy so we take it very seriously.

What I mean is looking at the amount of time of planning going into that relatively short amount of time; there must be a lot of stuff packed into those weeks. The more time spent planning means there is more stuff to be doing.

Oh yes! You will be busy!

I would like to point out at this time to all those selected and all those that get selected: When the time comes rig sails for high winds, baton down the hatches, and rig ship for high seas!:D

This public service announcement brought to you by The Order of the Crossed Fingers.

It's starting to get real on here now, if selected I won't mind being that busy cause I will have finally reached one of my major career goals.

Kind of serious question, but not really serious. Besides remembering you did not get there by yourself, and remembering all of those that helped you. Be they juniors, peers, or superiors. How do you be humble about it? What I mean is if I get selected I feel like I will have a perma-smile going on. Is it possible to be humble about it while also smiling like an idiot?

I will not give anything away, but I will tell you that your smile won't last that long. You will smile and you will be humble at times, but you will definitely lose that smile.

Kind of figured it was something like that. Haha I'll just smile on the inside. But, that will probably not last long either. I give it about seven seconds longer. Plus one, minus six.

I think my smile would stay if I got selected cause I'm game for anything cause I know that I am joining the greatest fraternity ever.

You will be allowed to laugh at yourself, but that is it!

The humble part will come to you. The first thing to do when you find out you are selected is breathe.

I'm my own best source of material.

I am looking forward to looking back at going through the process. (note "looking back" not the actually going through. I read between the tea leaves.)

I will try to remember. Thank you!

Man, that's terrible...  I've always gone with the assumption of whatever I sign (pg 13's, evals, etc.) will end up in my OMPF.  I have pg 13's in my record for stuff as simple as acknowledging a command's drug policy.  I was told that it would stay local as well, but it obviously didn't.  Granted, a pg 13 like that won't affect advancement, but still..

Yes that is unfair, we keep ours local by putting in the divo folder.  I do not believe there is a way to submit it locally into nsips.

I understand that Phase 2 is supposed to challenge you, and if I'm fortunate enough to be selected, I expect it to challenge me. But I can guarantee that I will be smiling because if I get the S,  I would have waited nine years to see my name on that NAVADMIN.

Wait so on the day of the results coming out, will the TRIAD get the word before our profile sheets are updated? I remember in the past seeing everyone F5'ing like crazy to see if it would come up but not sure if that has changed.

Triad release first then public the next day. So no more clicking away to see if you got selected.

TRIAD gets the notification of those selected at their command the day before results are available anywhere else. I guess they finally got enough stress test info on the servers.

To Recieve PM Notifications

- On your profile, upper right, click on your name to bring up the dropdown.

- Select "Account Settings"

- On the lower right, "Other Settings", click on "Notification Settings".

- Under "Notification preferences", check the "Show popup window when I receive a new personal message" box.

While there, under "Method to use for content I follow automatically", you can select "A notification when new content is posted". This will notify you when someone has posted without having to refresh.

Perfect, Thanks Brothers. So does that mean the public date is the 3rd or the 4th then?

Public release is always 24 hrs later from the Triad release. Everyone is choosing the 3rd as the Triad date. The public release would come out on the 4th. This gives Triad, CO, XO, CMC, time to do their leadership thingy.
