It falls under the code 32 field. It can say anything the command wants. Whether you should actually be on FEP is academic if the command policy differs from your opinion. 

I have one saying I will not smoke spice. It IS in my OMPF. Along with various other things like Battle E's and death gratuity selection. 

If you want to dismiss the notion of locally generated and held pg 13, fine I'm not looking to argue. HOWEVER, the 6110 says ONLY FAILURES of BCA and PRT events will be documented administratively.  Not scoring satisfactory, which is why I previously stated before about 13s.

No argument from me. I wasn't trying to poke you in the eye. Just answering a question about whether the board will see a 613.

Every command differs on the interpretation of "will", "shall", "must"...within the broad sweeping instructions we have in our Navy. A general rule of thumb is that any commander "may" apply stricter standards than what the general all-encompassing OPNAV or BUPERS instruction states - with the exception that they "shall" not lessen any restrictions or requirements. 

We disagree, that's fine with me. However, if you have a 613 generated at your local command - it WILL be in your OMPF.  Otherwise, what's the point?

Yes!!! I have heard this so many times!  I was even directed to hand over my command collaterals half way through the eval cycle to give other FCPO's a chance because I was a "sure pick".

I'm not trying to put words in your mouth, but just sticking to what you know best will not satisfy the definition of leadership. I'm sure that's what you meant - do more than the "usual".

Stepping outside our boxes and crushing any obstacles we come across (failing at some but learning from our mistakes) is what we need to do on a daily basis.

You elaborated just what I was trying to say!  :)  I took that advice as to be genuine in all you do.  It is more on a personality/intrinsic motivational aspect that I apply it to. 

No matter what job or duty I am given or seek out, I always give it my absolute best and seek to improve.  A person's internal drive goes a lot further than those who just go through the motions.

When I became the CFL at my previous command it was a huge change for me. I am naturally introverted in personality and don't really like to be in front of people. It was a huge change for me and I did have some bumps along the way. However I had strong encouragement from the chain of command to not give up and learn from my errors. I did so and I feel it paid off. 

I feel as we advance in our careers we will be put in situations that we are not going to be comfortable in, or asked to take jobs that no one else wants to do. It's like we are constantly being tested. It's that ability to adapt overcome and succeed that helps us grow. Just my thoughts!

So my questions are How would that look on an eval and how could you explain that change in the write-up without it coming off as adverse? Also, would you be given the opportunity to pick up a different collateral duty during the eval cycle? Such as CFS-6, Assistant ESWS Coordinator-6. The only way I can think of that it would be good is if you immediately pick up another duty upon given up the first one.

Thoughts?

Some great advice I have received is to just do what you do best and be yourself.  Stay true to your foundation and return the lessons and training to your junior Sailors as often as you can.  For me personally, leaving a positive impact on my Sailors and having them still reach out to me for advice years later or seeing them advance in their own careers is a great reward.  I want to set the precedence that its never time to just give up or take the easy jobs.

Yeah me too. Our CMC had me turnover all my programs and refused to give me anymore. My concern that I expressed was what if I DON'T get picked up then what? So even though he won't let me have anything I'm still dipping in command collaterals and the mess playing an assistant role so I at least have something, plus it keeps me busy away from the thought of the results.

I hate when people are so confident, because when I tell them I don't count my chickens till they are squawking they call me pessimistic. I was our SOY, and I won my ISIC level competition. However, after my fifth time up I tend to discount optimism.

We do turnovers and elections after the results come out so no one is short changed on coll duties.

We have 6 month cabinet positions now because we are expeditionary so I still had FCPOA President at least until May but from then on they were like...naw...you're good..you don't need anything...but like HawkISback  said "don't count my chickens till they are squawking".

Yeah I totally agree with you on that one. Well now it makes sense why they said to give it up.

Well, the board is scheduled to adjourn tomorrow...  That's when the true countdown begins, when everyone has already been selected and it's just a matter of when the results will be released!

Just throwing this out there on the whole page 13 subject. About 11 years ago I got a page 13 for failing a portion of a mock PRT. I signed it with the understanding it was going to stay local. Passed every other mock and actual PRT the rest of the time I was at that command. Some how that page 13 ended up in my OMPF. It has been there ever since, and I have not been able to do anything about it.

Man, that's terrible...  I've always gone with the assumption of whatever I sign (pg 13's, evals, etc.) will end up in my OMPF.  I have pg 13's in my record for stuff as simple as acknowledging a command's drug policy.  I was told that it would stay local as well, but it obviously didn't.  Granted, a pg 13 like that won't affect advancement, but still..

That was just an ice cube on top of the tip of the ice burg of my experience at that command. As a kicker. After what was with out a doubt the worst three years of my entire Naval career (thus far). And, them knowingly doing everything they could to derail my career they actually asked me to stay on board to "hook them up."

Oh, my younger years. The stuff I wish I knew back than, and the things I wish I still knew now! As, a lesson to all. Treat every one as if it is going to end up in your record. Even if it is not suppose to.

Yeah, I don't see where anyone can agree with that either. Simply tell the Sailor what you plan to do, don't be sneaky about it - just a bad command.

Yes, there is a caching issue. What you can also do (I do too) is to refresh the page. Sometimes you have to do it twice. It will then show the proper state (logged in). Thanks much for the heads up.
