I sent this link out to my command so hopefully some jump on, there is really good info here and I have learned a lot for sure.

Am I the only one not really stressed or doesn't seem stressed? I was talking to my SEA the other day and he says he can see the determination on my face that I want to make it but I feel like I just go in day in and day out doing what I do.   I do hope I see some good friends on that list wither I'm there or not and hope you guys going on here too. Good luck

No, you are not the only one not stressing out about this.  I am not stressed either.  I have been in the Navy for 18 years.  I have had a nice fulfilling career.  I absolutely want to make Chief, but I also understand that it may not be written in the stars for everyone to receive that honor.  My family has supported me from day one, and my wife has pushed me just as hard as any Chief, Div-O, or Dept Head I have ever had.  I truly believe that I have done and continue to do all that I can to set myself apart and prepare for anchors.  But if I do not make this year or next, I will retire with my head held high and proud of the fact that I led my Corpsmen, Sailors, and Marines to the best of my ability and set them on the path of great success.

Very well said. I hope that you do get selected. If not I wish the best for you. It seems like you have lead your junior personnel very well and have their best intentions in mind.

I'm with you bud, been in for 17 years and this is my first time up. Took me a while to make 1st.  I have been pretty humble about everything so far, set a side some of the chiefs messing with me already. I know I have done everything I can do to this point and will always push forward wither I get selected or not.

I'm not going to lie, I've been stressing a bit.  I think this is the strongest my record has looked.  I'm also nearing my 20 year mark, and being up nine times has definitely taken its toll on me.  All I can do is wait it out like everyone else, continue to develop Sailors, and hope for the best, but be prepared for yet another N.  Good luck to all of the SBE's out there!

Lots of positive outlooks on the forum today. I like seeing that people are preparing themselves for the best and worst outcomes. If the countdown is correct (Aug 3rd has the lead), then we are at 21 days and a wake-up!

That's what we have to do now is hope for the best and prepare for the worst. I hope most of us are right and it is the 3rd.  You are definitely right the positivity has definitely picked up over the last couple weeks or so. It's a good thing

As all of us agree that it would be awesome, I don't think I can remember a time when they came out that early though, but I would not mind those few extra days if I made it cause I'm the end of the training, it's all about putting on the anchors!!

Thank you. I.Y.A.O.Y.A.S.! 14.9% for us man. Not as good as I was hoping for. Do you have a pretty strong package?

I'm out to sea right now. I wish these few weeks would pass by quicker.

Checked out of my command today with the acting CMC. Gave me great words of encouragement and also shared with me he made chief on his first time up.  His words will really stick with me. As leaders sometimes at least I think we forget how much we influence not only junior sailors but also our peers. He told me I have a good shot to make it, but even if I don't, keep pushing and developing sailors and improving yourself as well. Walked out feeling at peace. With that being said, is it August yet?!!

I'm not excited about the results coming this year. I have a pretty good feeling that I'm not going to make the cut. I spent most of my time In schools and got the ol "P" eval. Then a med wave on my last prt. Life this year just isn't working out.

I do wish everyone else who is eligible the best of luck.

I don't think to many of us are excited for the results. A lot of quotas dropped this year but we still have to keep each other's heads up and hope for the best to happen. The P eval isn't goin to hurt you since you were in school and it affected your time at the command. And the bird can't hold it against you for having a med waiver.  I hope the best for you and I hope you get the S. Good things come to those who wait and when we least expect it.

Yeah, our quotas were disappointing to look at. I know there's a lot of competition out there. It is what it is. The boards just about done convening so there's nothing else to do but to wait. Good luck. IYAOYAS!!

I'm stressing because if I dont make it, it will be a couple of years for me to get back on course.  I came off being SSOY and PCSd to my current command.  Right into revamping the shop and re-motivating the sailors there.  Well since my wife got sick I have been relieved as LPO and coll duties to spend as much time with my wife as possible.  Family is everything and I understand the need for that call to be made.  Its just a hard pill to swollow to just "do-nothing".  Sorry for the debby downer post but feel this is a good forum to vent.  Hope yall get the S!

One of the hardest things to learn in life is the ability to be happy for others while being overwhelmed with your own feelings of disappointment. We as leaders have to learn to be happy for others when they succeed. Everyone is promoted when it is their time. So what if someone makes it that shouldn't have in your eyes. We have all had that feeling about someone, and the only way to overcome it is to wait till your selected and show them what it means to be a Chief. Do you know how many people were selected before me that I lead circles around now? I had a CPO come to me recently that was selected 2 years before me and tell me he was amazed by my growth and how I lead Sailors. He told me he admired me and wanted to ask me how did I get here. So although someone may get selected before you, you still hold the power to grow, lead Sailors, and become even better. Leadership isn't something that is granted to you just by putting on khakis. You have to work hard, earn the trust of everyone around you, and live a life of integrity that is focused on adding value to everyone. The key here is that you have to genuinely want to do these things.

This message isn't directed at @navyordie123 primarily because I have seen others post on here about seeing people make it that do not deserve it. As stated above if you feel they weren't held accountable then make sure you are holding your Sailors accountable, but you better make sure you operate in a consistent and fair manner or your Sailors will not trust you or follow you. And 3rd time should be a charm. It was for me.

Wow! This is some real talk right here. I've had that "why not me?" feeling for five times, but this helps put it in perspective a bit more. I think this is a great lesson for all to adhere to. This made my day!  Thank you for sharing.

I was sitting there thinking last night, over a good bottle of protein. And, I honestly don't know what to do if I don't pick it up this year. Just kind of feel like I went full speed for so long, I've run out of stuff to do or achieve. Does anyone else ever get that "so, what now" feeling?

Sometimes I do but I usually find a little small something to do. If you have truly run out of things to do, I guess you could try out of rate NKO courses. I know it might sound kinda stupid but it would expand your knowledge of that would be something you wanted to do
