I am sure you will be and that is fine. My only advice is take everything with a grain of salt and be receptive to the entire process. The guy I sponsored last year made it on his last look and he was ecstatic. Emotion will be your best friend and your worst enemy.

I understand that the process of phase 2 is necessary to, for a lack of a better phrase, prepare a Sailor to carry the weight of the anchors.    If I am selected, I will be take everything with a grain of salt with the understanding that it was for a purpose.

I think my smile would stay if I got selected cause I'm game for anything cause I know that I am joining the greatest fraternity ever.

Think i'll join the all smiles club too if selected.  Rain or shine, sleet or snow, the smile must never go. :)

I should have took me a vacation with family  later in the summer, but I'm glad I didn't because all I would do is just look at my phone. I was thinking about how the results are just on someone's desk. Names and all. Crazy...

I have a luncheon on the fifth with the navy league, it will either be a really happy day or it will be good practice on putting a fake smile up.

When I became the CFL at my previous command it was a huge change for me. I am naturally introverted in personality and don't really like to be in front of people. It was a huge change for me and I did have some bumps along the way. However I had strong encouragement from the chain of command to not give up and learn from my errors. I did so and I feel it paid off.

I feel as we advance in our careers we will be put in situations that we are not going to be comfortable in, or asked to take jobs that no one else wants to do. It's like we are constantly being tested. It's that ability to adapt overcome and succeed that helps us grow. Just my thoughts!

Man, I am an IT1 as well.  This is describing me as well. Except my fear is being in front of people to talk.  My CMC and Chiefs mess forced me out of my zone.  It definitely benefited me. What's really ironic I have met few and far between good IT "LEADERS" I have been gotten more out of my LS leadership then anywhere.   But to be honest I wasn't ready when I was younger, leadership is most definitely a two way street. An one side was shut down for paving.

Looking forward to learning from all of you over the course of the next few weeks and onward if selected. Really enjoy reading the posts so far.

I sat down with another board eligible first class and we were going over everything we had been told to have in our packages/records. Movsm, PPME, JPME, education, etc. We looked at our PSR and OMPF. We basically over analyzed our records for the millionth time! The career ladder for each rating is also a helpful tool I beleive, it has courses and career progression expected of your rate at each pay grade.

I have been stalking this forum for a while now and my only regret is that I didn't know about this website sooner.  The board hopefully adjourns today and I wish all of my fellow firsts good luck!!  The only Sailors that are on here are Sailors who obviously care about there records and performance. (For the most part)  Any Sub Yeoman on here?

Man I hope it all went well this year. I think I have the right stuff but who knows. This will be my first time so it's hard to say but being as I just transferred to my new command, it will likely be a minute before I am able to get my evals to be stellar again. Does anyone know how much weight is put on SSOY? What about 5.0 evals? Or even being an SOY at one command, and SSOY at another.

The Navy League is awesome! The Savannah Navy League adopted my unit so we get to go to Savannah a lot and do the Saint Paddy's Parade with them. They definitely take care of Sailors.

Yea both the San Diego and kitsap branches were awesome. This one is in Seattle, should be a great time. They hosted our SOY luncheon and competion week.

Very bad. They would investigate and careers put on line. There would be a delay. So bad it make some older members of this forum cringe from past discussion.

That would be a BAD day. They would call everyone back in for questioning and it would delay the release. Let's not hope for that! Didn't that happen once before?

I knew it would be bad but geez.  Wouldn't want any of that to happen just to know sooner.  Being patient sure does suck though! <_<

Have you heard of it happening before @Tony?

Yes, even as the posts were flying here on the forum it happened, twice I think (maybe 3?). First a rumor then confirmed - true to life as a few admin hookups we had were telling me to stand by for high winds and heavy seas. I don't remember the particulars because when the wait starts I'm usually behind the scenes with the server.

One particular funny one (after the fact). You know how a new page starts after so many posts on this forum right? Well someone posed a hypothetical question about the breach, someone replied and it was at the top of a new page. A chief saw only the response and started blasting everybody including the Duke of Edinburgh about the prior cycle breach and how this forum was going to put a stop to the release. I simply told him to read the prior post.

Right. And if I remember correctly two incidents involved board members. Again though, can't hold me to it because that's when I'm busy with the server/ forum stuff.

I remember about 4 years or so ago the results were held until about 3 weeks before pinning giving the Selectees that year little to no time for training evolutions.

The Honor portion of the board that year was compromised and the result was felt throughout the Navy.

Do the right thing and good things will happen!

Yes, selectees were the victims.

So we all know that leaked results would be the worst, but the real question is would you really want to know early if you made I or not?   I don't think I would.

That's the word I kept trying to think of the "Honor" portion, darn it!

I remember some scuttlebutt about the one that got held up until just before pinning. And, remember this is only scuttlebutt. Supposedly while pulling the string during the investigation some..... irregularities...... were found concerning the names on the list. At least why they stacked up the way they did. As a result, as the scuttlebutt puts it, they basically had to do the board over for some if not all the rates. That is what I heard any way. But, you know me. I am not one to spread gossip.
