MU1, A set day does not ensure you the answers you are waiting for. If the results come out sooner than the date set in your mind, then you will know sooner and thus be able to prepare for either eventuality sooner. I can assure you that none of us particularly like this waiting game and would rather for it to be over sooner than later.

My stats: not bragging:

-Evals oldest to newest:

-Xfer EP above Reporting Seniors average was Field Training Officer, DARE instructor, 400 hours community service, documented enforcement of standards and recognized SME. Awarded NAM

-Concurrent EP on a year in Afghanistan however the Reporting Senior was a low baller and gave me a 3.46 which is at his average. I was a truck commander/close protection team. I finished my security and intelligence degree (I technically finished it just before the IA but the completion date was during the reporting period of eval. Awarded JCOM, JSAM, and 3 LOAs.

-Xfer NOB due to GSA IA

-Frocking EP above COs average: Personal Security ALPO/ANCOIC, ACFL, 90 hours community service, POA member

-1 of 12 EP well above COs average, personal security Team LPO/NCOIC. Navy Ball, CFL, POA secretary. 105 hours of community service. awarded: JSAM, FLOC.

-1 of 14 EP above COs average (a different CO than previous eval): Personal Security LPO and fulfilling an E7 admin billet. Also documented mentor with 6 personal under me getting awarded meritorious awards. POA president, CFL, Navy Ball. Completed 150 hours of community service and Masters Degree in Justice Administration. Also awarded a FLOC

-Xfer EP with 1 of 12 EP with 5.0 Average (.99 higher than COs Average). Same duties as before as it's one of those jobs where you will stay if you do good. CFL, PHA coordinator, documented participation and leadership in CPO 365 and mentoring. Awarded: JCOM and MOVSM

Completed PME, JPME and all applicable correspondence courses (BMR, CPO, etc ).

I received a NAM during the reporting period of the prior Eval. The Floc was from Rear Admiral Fox a Strike Group Commander since my CO said giving me an EOT NAM was pointless when i just got one during the prior reportin period. I wasn't about to fuss with the CO over a NAM. Just so happens the Rear Admiral was going to give me recognition. I will take recognition from a Rear Admiral over an EOT NAM any day of the week. I have six NAM's anyway I think I'm maxed out for points in that department.

Yes, but how long was it from the time the board finished until they were released? If the board took longer than ours then maybe it could be earlier.

Our board began May 19th and adjourned 6 Jun which makes it a 3 week board just as the REGNAV was. Our results were released 27 Jun which would place your results around 31 Jul.

Definitely some impressive resumes here. Anyone ever look at a resume that was awesome and maybe even better than yours and wonder how they didn't pick up years ago.

I have come to the realization it happens when it is supposed too. I have seen some stellar Sailors never make CPO and I know they have a rock solid resume. It's all in de chicken bones mon!!!!!

I'm sorry lol. I hope sooner rather than later so we can get this show on the road. Myself and my reserve selectees have things lined up for our REGNAV counterparts when they come onboard.

Question for you both, we were having a discussion at work the other day and I'm curious about your thoughts on it. We were all talking about how a lot of the board briefs specifically say they want to see Watch commander for MA's, but very rarely do we see the Watch Commanders pick up. Watch Commander is probably one of the more stressful positions to have in an active Security Department, so I see why they call it out specifically, just doesn't seem to match up with who we see getting the big "S" each year. How often do you see MA1's rolling into the board with Watch Commander listed as primary duties, getting selected?

Apologies for not replying to your question. I concur with NavySquid79, most of us have been through the trials and tribulations of being a Watch Commander, and the labor intensive position gets us to LPO positions we so rightly deserve to be in. The SSP is attributed to either position IMO. The Sailorization and mentorship is present in being a Watch Commander, but more so as an LPO of a department. It's the command collaterals that break us out amongst our peers, all the while still running your department or watch section. The board will see that you have held various positions and understand when reporting to a new command that it's standard procedure to start out as a Watch Commander. So no worries if that's what your current primary duty reads. It's what you do on the side to remain versatile and competitive that shows your initiative and drive to succeed! Good luck! Let's hope for the "S" next to our names!

I think we'll know  for  sure tomorrow  when results will be released. MCPON has to know what a big  deal this is to  all of the first classes and I am sure he's going to address it in his  Q&A. I'm thinking Thursday Triad  and Friday public.

Did 3.5 miles yesterday in 87 degree weather with 90% humidity. It is hot here. As I get older it is taking me longer to recover. My right achilles seems to stay tender. I do enjoy beating the young'uns in the cardio of the pfa.
