CPO boards are no shorter than 3 weeks. Board convened 23 Jun 14. That would place the board at 3 weeks if they adjourned last Friday. Then 2 weeks of post board scrub placing release date NLT 1 Aug 14 IMHO.

Does anybody remember how the last couple of years the word on the street was that MCPON didn't want results released on a Friday? Anyone know if that's still the case?

And looking at the last few years its been Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday..... Therefore my prediction is a command triad release of 30 July with the full results on 31 July. (Last four years: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday!)

long as there's 1, you always have to think why not me?  in the event that you're not, in my personal opinion, I would pass them on and I say that because I believe it would show that you didn't have to be selected for you to see in someone that they are Chief material, I believe that would say a lot!  A Senior Chief that I had the honor of being in his retirement ceremony said that most first classes feel as if their career was a failure if they didn't get selected for Chief, however, think of all the first classes that they made a Chief and the personnel that they made an officer.  How could they ever feel like they've failed by not making Chief?  Good luck MU1!

You're right: with 1 at least there's a chance (a lot better than 0).  It may just be me, but I can find lots of reasons for it to not be me.  I think in the back of my mind, I'll always be asking, "What could I have done better?" or "What could I have done differently?"

 

With that being said, considering retirement is my worst-case scenario, I can't complain too much.

I avoided any classes this summer just for that reason, of course I'm still about 6 classes away from my BA, I doubt I could have resisted if I only had two left.

 

I am about to close out this semester next Friday the 25th. Bachelor's Degree is done, then start Master's on August 18th.

Yeah, and 1,414 of those records were just in the Corpsman rate.  Even with the board being over, I still think the release of results on the 30th/31st to the triad.

 

I agree with you.  I think they won't get released until the last week of July because Phase 2 is scheduled to be 6 weeks. Not 7!

Yeah I remember something about that from last year, that releasing them mid-week would make it so non-selectees couldn't go out and do something stupid because they would have to be fit for duty the following day. With Pinning being on 16 SEPT I can see Results coming on on 30 JUL

 

i think they were more worried about DUIs and whatnot over the weekend not pinning

That's what I feel that it is.  I just feel that 25 July is too early for them to be released, but wouldn't that be awesome to find out either way?  At least I would be able to move on!

My semester ends on August 8 and with any luck I will finally have my AA. Figured it was safer to get that and then decide on something that I can move around with than to start a BA program somewhere and have to worry about credits not transferring.

Good luck. I had the problem with credits also due to some dubious colleges courses I took years ago cough Grantham University cough. Got on the right track late in 2010.

The exam just gets you in the door, if you are selection board eligible.  The selection board determines if you make Chief.

So do have a question. I have been on a long PCS due to several schools and it will be a total of almost 6 months. Unfortunately I am missing a few signatures for phase 1. If by some lucky chance I get that "S", how would I be affected in phase 2? Will I still be eligible to participate and just earn the signatures as I go or will I have a delayed participation in phase 2 or a possible delayed pinning. Thanks.
