Navy Establishes New Deputy Chief Of Naval Operations to Support Failing Shore Infrastructure
WASHINGTON NAVY YARD – Navy shore infrastructure will be in failing condition by 2037 if the sea service continues to use its current funding schedule, the new deputy chief of naval operations told USNI News on Thursday. As the newly created deputy chief of naval operations of sustainment, Vice Adm. Scott Gray, who will report on Oct. 5, will be tasked with continuously pushing for funding for shore infrastructure, including barracks and piers. -

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is set to announce a 20 percent cut to slots slated for admirals and generals at the Pentagon as part of his push to overhaul the outlook of the department, two Pentagon officials confirmed to The Hill on Tuesday. The Defense secretary will publicize the reductions, which will affect senior leadership positions across the Army, Navy and the Air Force, on Wednesday during his State of the Force address in Quantico, Va., the officials said. -
