Hey all,

I’m trying to get back in touch with an old friend and teammate, Petty Officer 1st Class Michael Salassa, who served with distinction during the conflicts between 2009 and 2014 (and in Libya)

Michael was one of those rare people who combined professionalism, humor, sharp instincts, and genuine care for his team. Those of us who had the privilege to serve alongside him remember his quiet leadership, quick thinking under pressure, and the way he could find humor even in the toughest situations.

He’s a bit of a ghost online and tends to delete his socials now and then, never really told us about life back home, so I figured I’d try my luck here. If anyone’s been in touch or knows how to reach him, please pass along that Tex and Sly are looking to reconnect and say hello.

Michael — if you see this, brother, hope you’re doing well and staying safe. Miss the old days and would love to catch up.
